My argument is the same. No Larry Walker, no Vladdy.
Are you partial to Expos OF's? How do you feel about Tim Raines? No Dawson without Raines???

Here's a list of OFs that aren't in the Hall, ranked by WAR. This tells me he doesn't belong.

Larry Walker (17) 72.6
Carlos Beltran (19, 39) 70.2
Manny Ramirez (19) 69.2
Tim Raines (23) 69.1
Kenny Lofton (17) 68.2
Dwight Evans (20) 66.9
Reggie Smith (17) 64.5
Andruw Jones (17) 62.8
Jim Edmonds (17) 60.3
Gary Sheffield (22) 60.3
Bobby Abreu (18) 59.9
Ichiro Suzuki (16, 42) 59.8
Vladimir Guerrero (16) 59.3

I certainly think Raines belongs and I think he might sneak in before he drops. The WAR numbers are compelling and that is mainly because of defense. Vlad was an above average defender with a cannon of an arm until about 2001, after running on the horrible surface at Olympic Stadium for five years he just became gimpy. That's when the stolen bases fell off and his outfield play was less than be desired. If you look at the HOF standards number on Baseball Reference both Walker and Vlad are 58 which is above the standard average of 50...maybe they both go, I hope so but raw numbers just tell me Larry didn't quite do enough.
7/28/2016 4:49 PM
Raines should get in next year on his final try.

I will typically start Raines at home and/or against catchers with poor throwing arms. Murcer will start in hitters parks and/or against non-deadball pitchers. Simmons (and his A+ arm) will spot start against teams with good speed. Kell will start against LHP and be my defensive replacement at 3B. We'll save Duke Farrell for key games vs. divisional opponents late in the season.
8/4/2016 12:02 PM
Nice spreadsheet, schwarze. Think I'll borrow it. We are in Dodger Stadium. Was hoping to get more speed than I ended up getting but hopefully we'll be good enough overall to win games.

Because I didn't take any deadball pitching, I expect my HR/9 to be higher than most teams. But my overall WHIP should be lower. Hopefully, my park will supress those pesky HR's.

Selected Jarry Park for my home stadium. Obviously hoping to cash in on the longball!

Ton of IP, Ton of PA, which we need in Coors. Went nuts last year in Mile High, hoping to up that this year. By up, I mean HR's. A lot more pure power than in seasons past. Went away from the 2b's and 3b's strategy of the past.....Not getting Hugh Duffy in the 1st round, for the first time, will do that to a man. Also ignored last season's MVP Dan Brothers, who has a **** ton of records due to last seasons shienanagans.

Ed Morris gladly brings his 900+ ip arm back to coors. Went with two more modern pitchers in a 3 man rotation this time, to see if I can reduce our errors, due to the all deadball staff of last season.

Added a bunch of quality fielding as well this year, as Ken Griffey, might be our "worst" fielder out of the regulars.
Javy Lopez doesnt count here, as he'll sit against the running teams.

Bring your bat's and pitchers boys your gonna need them.

Actually am predicting a bit of a drop, from the last two seasons, more in the 85 win range, but we shall see. Been consistent, if nothing else
