1981 Progressive needs 1 - TAKEN! Topic

The long-running Real Life Progressive league is looking for a new Cleveland Indians owner. This is a really competitive team stocked with long-term pitchers and tons of IPs, plus Grich, Trammell and Moreland long-term at key positions, and great outfielders. Eight guys in 1981 have over 500ABs, and five have batting averages over .300. This team will compete for the playoffs without any holes, but also gets the 11th pick in a very deep first round (1981 was an exceptional draft for hitters).

This progressive league is like most, except that any player who started his career in a season is available to be drafted that season in the first round. In other words, in 1981, Cal Ripken Jr., Ryne Sandberg and several others are "Prospects" that can be drafted -- they started their career in 1981 but were not WIS eligible. A prospect would join any players you have on the DL until he is WIS eligible. Draft order is based on reversed standings at game 120 (with a minimum wins rule). Draft slots are based on your number of keepers. Keep 20 and you get 5 draft rounds. If you select a prospect in the 1st round (meaning someone who played in 1981 but wasn't WIS eligible), you can pick up your 25th player in the supplemental draft round, which occurs after the normal draft is finished. The rest is pretty standard, with 4 AAA that you select from the 1981 season, and a DH is used in the AL.

Please sitemail if interested, and for further explanation of the rules.
