Redshirting question Topic

So the player I redshirted had a work ethic of 71. He was upset about the redshirt and work ethic dropped to 56. Will his work ethic continue to drop throughout the season or will it stay at 56? Also is it a possibility that he may decide to transfer after the season? Thanks.

WE should stay the same (at least it did for my one ever player that I kept the RS on when he disliked it, since then I dont do it). Yes a Very good possibility he will leave (that one player did leave from my team and another left with him (simulated buddy system).

The WE will stay at 56. Zero percent chance he leaves after the season.

In this case, would his WE go back up to 71 after the RS season? Or is wherever it drops his new WE moving forward?

It will stay at 56 after the season.

agree

he wont leave - the WE drop is the consequence

his WE will not bounce back - altho it can over seasons climb with playing time etc.....as for any player

So in short if you find a player you want and you know you are planning on redshirting him... Just make sure he has a decent work ethic and youll be just fine. 71 to 56 isn't too extremely severe in this case.

OR put in a little extra effort and inform of redshirt

Keep in mind, different players will drop their WE to different degrees. Some will go to single digits.

I believe - but cant prove - that based on the player's ratings and the school's prestige, a player is less likely to have a huge drop if he is thrilled by the schollie - if he was a reach, more likely to be unhappy

also affected by who else is on your roster

Is he the best option to redshirt? Maybe drop it on a sophomore this season and then him as a soph next season......

be careful!! if you take it off and put it back on after trying someone else he may be LESS happy the 2nd time
