I have a good pitcher in Arb2 this season. I'm considering using the Arb/LT bug to sign him for six years as he's only 26. However, does anyone know how a bonus will be treated if I do this?

I have a low payroll this season, so I was planning to include a large bonus to reduce the per season costs. However, if I arb then LT, will the bonus funds come out of this season's payroll or next, as the LT contract doesn't kick in until next season?

Pretty sure bonus money is locked in with first year of contract.

That said, what you're considering is not taking advantage of the bug. You have to do arb3, stay on that page then offer the 5 year deal. What you're doing is simply skipping the arb3.
