Not saying he'll be an all-star, but it's not a given he'll suck. Adam Loewen made the majors as an OF a couple years after bombing out as a pitcher. He hadn't hit since high school and managed to spend time with a couple major league clubs. Tebow could get a cup of coffee. He'll likely have to lose some of that bulk though.

Sheffield said he could hit.

That said, unless he's been working on a lot of things, BP hitting isn't remotely similar to game hitting.

He's basically the same size as Mike Trout and Yasiel Puig. That's not really that big.

The pitcher pitching BP to him was a former MLB pitcher. Said Tebow couldn't hit anything off speed.
