I'm trying to determine how much makeup should factor into my draft decisions. After digging through old threads, it seems like most don't let a low makeup deter them from drafting a player. Am I correct in understanding that, with good coaching and a maxed-out training budget, prospects can still reach their projections, but they're most likely to decline sooner?
The two pitchers I'm considering have projected makeups of 62 and 53. Too low for a top pick? All five players I'm considering are college players and I have $20M in COL. I'd prefer a pitcher over a bat, but the low makeups scare me.
Pitcher A: 86 OVR | 29 DUR | 88 HEALTH | 62 MAKEUP
88 STA | 95 CNTL | 66 vL | 88 vR | 84 VEL | 90 GB/FB | 84 P1 | 77 P2 | 47 P3 | 78 P4 | 30 P5
Pitcher B: 83 OVR | 27 DUR | 95 HEALTH | 53 MAKEUP
78 STA | 94 CNTL | 90 vL | 78 vR | 35 VEL | 64 GB/FB | 86 P1 | 72 P2 | 74 P3 | 70 P4
The three bats I'm considering seem like the safer route. I guess this opens up the position need vs. best available can of worms as well.
Player C: 89 OVR | 76 RANGE | 85 GLOVE | 93 STR | 90 ACC | 87 DUR | 73 HEALTH | 81 MAKEUP
71 CON | 80 PWR | 79 vL | 83 vR | 57 EYE | 77 RUN | 76 SPEED
Player D: 88 OVR | 63 RANGE | 59 GLOVE | 73 STR | 63 ACC | 69 DUR | 95 HEALTH | 73 MAKEUP
81 CON | 98 PWR | 87 vL | 100 vR | 72 EYE | 94 RUN | 88 SPEED
Player E: 86 OVR | 60 RANGE | 52 GLOVE | 54 STR | 55 ACC | 76 DUR | 99 HEALTH | 76 MAKEUP
81 CON | 94 PWR | 93 vL | 80 vR | 85 EYE | 80 RUN | 74 SPEED
Right now, my top 5 are ranked:
1. Pitcher A
2. Player C
3. Player D
4. Player E
5. Pitcher B
