What will happen when Wooden starts recruiting the week of August 15th:

1. They will do recruiting under HD 2.0 (old system) per usual.

2. When the recruiting period ends, there will be a 48 hour delay while the world switches over to new HD 3.0.

3. Any money not spent, will be lost (no carryover in new HD 3.0) so you better spend it.

4. After the 48 hour period has elapsed, the world will run under the new HD 3.0 model where your scouting resources/ recruiting budgets are based solely on the # of openings along with a fixed base amount which vary depending on division.

Since Wooden is the first world, worlds already recruiting right now (Tark/Phelan/Naismith) will still get another recruiting period under the 2.0 system.

HEY! Recruiting will happen one final time under the "Old" system in all worlds. So, the rollover/bonus cash will be there. That includes Phelan, Tark & Naismith. The first one to switch is Wooden, then Rupp...spend all your money! Here is the timeline for signup (after which the final "old" recruiting will occur) before the update:

How did you come up with these dates? I am asking because the announcement of 3.0 update said one more recruiting season.

If that is the case, then Naismith (recruiting now one last time through August 14th) would roll August 15th. Otherwise, it would mean two more recruiting cycles under old system rather than the 1 mentioned in the update post.

Hoops Dynasty launched back in 2004. Over the years, it has evolved into the best college basketball simulation game of its kind through customer feedback and ideas from our development team. It’s about to evolve again!

Hoops Dynasty 3.0 is now ready after several seasons of beta testing (thank you to all our beta testers for their valuable feedback). In addition, we have been playing extensively ourselves and have been busy putting the finishing touches on what we believe is a tremendous step forward for the game.

HD 3.0 has a new design that can be played on any device, which is key for new user adoption, expanded marketing opportunities and will allow veteran coaches to play the game in nearly any situation.

Scouting and recruiting have been overhauled to better represent the actual real-life process, simplify the start-of-season learning curve for new users, and improve the overall gameplay for our veteran coaches.

Rather than bore you with paragraphs of text, we’ve created a couple visuals to help you digest the upcoming changes:

Because the scouting and recruiting changes affect the core of the game, the rollout of the new version is unique. As each world reaches the conclusion of its recruiting period, it will transition to the new version of the game within 48 hours and the season will continue. The first world to experience the upgrade will be the Wooden world.

Once the official update is in place across all worlds, marketing efforts will increase to bring new college basketball fans into the game.

The changes to scouting and recruiting are significant. For veteran coaches who have been following the same approach for years, this will be an adjustment. But we are confident coaches will adapt to the new system in a season or two and an entirely new web of scouting and recruiting strategies will emerge.

We’ll be closely monitoring the game, the forums and customer support tickets over the next couple months as the update is applied to each world. Feedback will be collected, reviewed and applied accordingly for future improvements, tweaks and additions.

Seble posted that Wooden would be the first to update. That necessarily means that Phelan and Naismith are being allowed to rollover and begin the next season BEFORE updating. There is no possibility of updating prior to the end of the season (as the "New" game requires teams to start with complete rosters for the following season).

Those dates are just cut & paste and re-ordered from the new coach signup page. Those are the dates that the worlds will last open up for new coach signups. The following day recruiting (still old-style) will begin and complete before the update pause.

Thanks Possum, I read that, but assumed since Naismith was also in recruiting right now it would be the last time and would be in that first cycle of changeover with Wooden.
