Man how do you guys search for players? When I searched it only gave me a season or 2, when I looked up Yadier Molina only one year came up even though I searched from 69-2015.

That's odd. Did you have some other filters on that would have limited the search? Like number of at bats, etc.?

I can't get a league number until the draft is finished, as I have to draft my team. Double-check your filters to make sure the year, team, etc. are correct. You should be able to see everything you need to see in an open league. That's what I'm using.

Ok I got it to work, I had initially loaded the 2015 players. Do you guys have a good method for excluding the protected players or just have to take it into account when selecting each player?

Make sure when you are selecting seasons, you are using the two drop boxes method (i.e. 1969 in one drop box, 2015 in the other). If you are using the single edit box one, click on the "Switch Season Search Type" just to the left of the "Season(s)" label as this will toggle between the two. Entering using the single edit box with "1969-2015" doesn't work as you think it should (it will only return for seasons 1969 and 2015, not seasons in-between).

You might also want to use the "Advanced" search interface instead of either the "Beginner" or "Normal" one if you feel comfortable using those as they will allow way better searches.

No easy way to exclude the selected players other than keeping the list handy and making sure any player you are thinking about selecting isn't already protected and/or selected by someone else.

Also, remember the rule that no team can lose more than TWO players in any given round so as the draft proceeds, teams can get "blocked" such that players can't be picked even if they are available until the next round.

LOL. True. It was a pipe dream that he'd get to me at #5.

I'm just amazed at the number of quality SPs that are unprotected than are usually available

I'm also hoping that ACEROTHSTEIN realizes that the eligible years are 1969 to 2015 (and not 1968) since he is a new user and kept Gibson instead.
