Pitch count and line up help!! Please :) Topic

I am recently coming back from a long time of not playing and wanting some advice on a lineup I am trying. I am using a 400 IP player to be my first and third starter with my other two filling in the 2nd and 4th slot. What pitch count should I use or how should I set it up since I want them to go long into game.
Pitcher Role % G W-L SV IP/162 ERA OAV WHIP K/9 BB/9 $
Christy Mathewson '08 (R) 100 56 37-11 5 411.0 1.43 .200 0.84 5.97 0.97 15.80M

Pedro seems like a really overkill pick in this situation, but I don't know the rules of the league you're playing in.

Here's the definitive thread on setting pitch counts: https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?TopicID=154851

Not sure who your RF is, as I can't see the name, but I don't like the pick there either. He's not good enough to bat at the top of the order and he's got too many PA for the bottom, likely. With this set, I would go Molitor, Runnels, Jones, Ruth, Rose, Martinez, RF, SS, but the lineup isn't pasted particularly well, and I think I might try for fewer PA at 3B and RF and more at 2B, or at least at the guys filling those roles -- but then, if your AAA 2B isn't garbage, you can cover that likely -- unless you need him to play SS. Personally, if I was going to tank a position I would prefer to tank 1B that way I could just play the best AAA hitters I got without worrying about position.

Mathewson pitching every other game can go about 73 pitches per game.
Pfiester can go 76 pitches every 4th game.
Martinze can go 85 picthes every 4th game.

I use 08 Christy a lot in a two man rotation along with Pete Alexander. I usually set Christy's pc at 85-90 and he'll stay at 100 percent for numerous starts depending on your park. At that pc every now and then you'll have to skip him a start when he dips below 100%.

828 SP innings isn't enough to go deep into games, you'll need to add a spot starter a deeper bullpen or plan to play fatigued.

Lineup construction is overrated. You're right PA is an unrealistically important factor. It also depends on who is on your bench. I'd move up Ruth against Righties if you can afford to rest him against some Lefties. Runnells too. I like to bunch my best hitters together which means leadoff doesn't have to be one of the best hitters, he only leads off once after that he follows the pitcher. Molitor should be at least #2 otherwise you'll waste too many of his PA.
