Formula for improvement Topic

Is there a formula out there that tells you about how much a player will improve involving practice minutes and WE? Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of because it also involves how many points are left to gain, playing time, etc. It would be hard to report on all situations.

huge number of variables - will depend on practice mins, how many points left, also what absolute number of points is - improve faster in 50s than in 90s - WE and other factors.

Also, I would argue that the exact numbers dont really matter that much. The general scale and direction are key. Rather than trying to calculate exactly, think bigger picture.

Is there a "bigger picture" formula? That can be within 3-5 points per season? (per attribute) Or even just a ballpark estimate.

Maybe the above just using WE and Practice time.

Sorry, I dont have or recall seeing a formula.

The largest improvement I saw in one skill in my most recent season was 17 points, where a guy had WE of 96, the skill was blue and his rating started at 52. I dont recall practice minutes, but I bet I did 20. thats a nice big improvement - but I bet others have seen more

Would anyone with teams in Allen, Smith, Tark, or Phelan be interested in site-mailing me an imgur of their practice plan? I would only need about 5-6 teams and would release my results to everyone. Also, is there conventional wisdom about whether LP and PER improve quicker than others?

good luck working toward a formula - my advice is to concentrate on doing the best you can to optimize each of your players improvement - monitor improvements - if you want to spend the time, track as it changes from blue to black to know upper bounds. Make your players better, find the best players you can with an eye toward a cohesive view of your roster.

In my experience, predicting exact levels of improvement isnt a significant data that will change tactics or results - but it could be interesting

Alright. I have a down and dirty formula for player improvement just using WE and Practice minutes. Feel free to add or subtract a point per rating if is high/high instead of black. This formula is assuming the player has 15 or more points left to grow at the start of the season.

WE=W
Practice Minutes=P
Improvement=Y

(W/7)*P=X

-.0000000215X^4+.0000131X^3+-.00256X^2+.23416X=Y

Some examples:
67 WE, 15 P= 10.5 points of improvement
99 WE, 20 P= 20.2 points of improvement
16 WE, 20 P= 6.5 points of improvement
70 WE, 12 P= 9.4 points of improvement
3 WE, 20 P= 1.8 points of improvement

did you round or truncate the decimals?

Round

It is pretty exact. Only suitable for X under 300.

Whoops, (W/7)*P=X not (W/7)+P=X
