I'm good at the generalization topics, but generally speaking how big a difference is there between a letter grade, the + and -? For example, B-, B, B+ in your particular offense or defense?

about a third

When I started, I didn't think they mattered a lot. Now, though, I value IQ much more. I'd rather have a player get to a B or B+ early, then develop his individual skills. I'm at 22 or 23 minutes for both offense and defense.

Read your post again, realized I didn't really answer your question. I don't really have an answer to your question, so I'm going with dac: about a third.

I think a third is wrong. It's more like three hundredths. I think iq translated into a number value for the sake of calculations and I just use my grade school grading chart for simplicity.

b- 80-82
b - 83-86
b+ 87-89

If you're nice enough, 79.3 is a B sometimes.

Here in Canada a 70 is a B.

So does Hughes, I copy him with his letter to number charts.

Well, I don't know the exact values that WIS uses .. but I use 5 points for each so for me:

B+ : 85
B : 80
B- : 75

I don't think it really matters that much. In the places I use IQ, it usually means 10% of the overall score. So the difference between 8.00 and 8.45 (the average if you use 83 to 86 instead of 80) is not that much. Also, so long as all the players are graded using the same equations, then relative to one another the impact is still the same.
