at least I got leonard from him ... so I got that going for me.

I could arguably have the best pitching staff to go with the worst line-up in $ next season.

me thinks one of these days you will figure out that its esposito playing on your team and not espinosa
Eh. I don't remember names of nobodies. He should have performed better in the playoffs or won the MVP. Then I'd notice.

I like trying to get involved in larger-scale deals.

for the most part im the opposite, i tend to make deals between teams going in opposite directions

But I'm always either getting better or treading water. But I feel like I can swap parts if it'll pay off short term or long term.

I'm still bitter about how much rapage you put to nellie to get him.
yeah nellie wouldnt pull the trigger on a proposed deal last season because he was still sore

Did we ever agree on glove vs range for second basemen? It seems like range is a bigger deal for most positions, but I thought there was a camp amongst us who thought glove might be more important there, specifically.
Glove...  Although you don't want to get too far in one direction or the other.  Below 75 in either is a problem and below 70 in either is a real problem.

heh.  no doubt.

it was the perfect storm... After countless attempts to get Kelly Payne, Gus Davenport, or Steve Thomas for 1B I went strong but not over the top for Leonard.  Nellie wasn't really looking to trade him at the time but coincidentally 2-3 other people were offing deals for Leonard at the same time.  Out of nowhere - Nellie softened up and pretty much got the idea in his head that Leonard must go... thats when I threw in Esposito as if he was a godsend to the deal and it was accepted.

I think I still average the most trades per season even though I have slowed down a lot lately.
I think I won the most trades award last year in Shtickless. Plus I pulled in three of the bigger prizes. Espinosa, Calles, and that dude from winepimp who used to be good for dherz.
I picked up like half of a future pitching staff.  I have a sick future 1-3 with a number of backend and bullpen guys in the minors.

It wasn't that attrocious of a deal. I actually think the pitcher that went with Guerrero was better, initially, but that's who Nellie wanted in a TC.

But the main points were that was the only deal he was offered, and he desperately needed cap room.

Moving him for Putnam was the most value I got back in any of my more recent trades

I'm just debating the merits of putting a high glove player there or a high range. I have two converted shortstops, and they'll be between 2nd and 3rd.

I completely altered my team in shtickless last season. It paid some dividends, but not what I had hoped. I should have beaten Milwaukee but there were a couple of iffy wins in there. I would blow him out, but he'd squeek by with a late inning win in the next game.

I usually end up putting the better arm at 3rd in the case of a draw.
