My guess is charges have been filed by now. It's not usually like TV, especially when there are probably 20+ witness interviews to do.
As far as the suspect's name not being released, my guess is that's out of concern for retribution against his family or whatever, although everyone who would want to do such a thing already knows what they'd need to know. Regardless, I'm fairly sure that part boils down to "Yikes, union guys are scary!"
