My guess is charges have been filed by now. It's not usually like TV, especially when there are probably 20+ witness interviews to do.

As far as the suspect's name not being released, my guess is that's out of concern for retribution against his family or whatever, although everyone who would want to do such a thing already knows what they'd need to know. Regardless, I'm fairly sure that part boils down to "Yikes, union guys are scary!"

I get that it's not like TV, but generally speaking when someone is run down in front of a bar with a shitton of witnesses, it's a fairly quick process.

I haven't been around any of it in a while, but it used to be relatively a pain in the *** to tack on charges here. So they want to know exactly what and how many things (and there are a ton of possibilities) they're charging him with.

And actually, almost anywhere, with a crime that happens at night, charges won't officially be filed until some time the next day. We're not loaded with Harry Stones and Dan Fieldings down here.
