and as long as Seattle is paying Ichiro more than $2 million a season, they will never make the play-offs, as money wasted on slappy's takes away from greater needs

look at Seattle's place in the AL West standings since Ichiro Suzuki joined the team in 2001-

one first place finish (his first season), 2 seconds, and a whole lot of (8 to be precise) 3rd's and 4ths

what is his value if he is only leading his team to the bottom of the standings?
