Worst disaster that never happened! Topic

He is still trying to save his disaster.

He cant make people hate BP if there is no disaster.

Lol, but there was one.
We need to define disaster.

When this first happened the left was screaming the sky is falling. People were saying that it would be so big that the Atlantic coast might be reached by the slick.
Life in the gulf would all be wiped out.

None of this happened.

How can we take any of the enviromental lefts stories true if everything that does happen never fits their narative.

BP Spill, Alar, New Ice Age, population...etc.

Why should we believe global climate change?

Well if a car flips over and kills your family it seems like a disaster to you, but not to the planet as a whole

Millions of people how?

Not being able to get fresh seafood isnt a disaster. There are not a million fisherman.

So we went from the left predicting a disaster that would impact the water over multiple states and extending all the way to the Atlantic ocean to...

Well since we are all passengers on Spaceship Earth anything that happens anywhere impacts us all?

Can someone just admit that the left plays up man made disasters for their own gain?

Maybe you should have to join the Army to become a citizen.

I am assuming you are being ironic here, but you know that you're not the first person to suggest that, right?

This is like the most awesome game of Telephone ever. 13 straight blocked posts between swamp and Caracarn, and somehow they've gone from talking about BP to rehashing Heinlein.

Starship Troopers is on Cable this month.

The producer of that movie should be shot on sight.  Ruined a great book.

Starship Troopers? It's a great movie... that totally subverts the book. It's like an anti-adaptation.

Great Movie? Good action movie at best.

Doogie Houser as an SS-style military intelligence colonel was too much.  Couldn't suspend disbelief.  I can handle giant intelligent space bugs invading from outer space, but Neal Patrick Harris in that role was one step too far.

The only redeeming value in this whole film was the shower scene.

No way. As a lampoon of jingoism (and the emotional immaturity that drives it), it's absolutely brilliant - just as Robocop is brilliant as a lampoon of corporatism.

The 'inappropriate' casting is entirely fueled by that satire. van Dien, NPH and Denise Richards are terrible choices for an action film, but awesome ones for a movie that's equal parts Leni Riefenstahl and Aaron Spelling.
