hey barret - can you reveal the formula for this? i was a bit surprised to see Chadron come in so high to start (no offense tanner) - granted a NT Runner Up is awesome - but i noticed in the past 10 season they missed the post season altogether 2 times and 2 other times they made the PI...

another example - Bryant - one of the best programs in our world DII - went from 19 to 9 in one season even though they have 2 Final Fours and 2 Elite Eights in the last 11 years - never missing the NT once...

just curious what the formula is in terms of weight from past season, etc - i know wronoj has tweaked his DIII Wooden formula ti include a longer period of time (i think 10 previous seasons) so that teams that make it every year are rewarded a bit more...

sorry if it comes across as picking at your formula - just wondering if previous seasons could use more weight? just going by Chadron's high level entry point and Bryant's big swing from 19 to 9 (2nd round to Elite 8) - my personal 2 cents is the last 10 years could use more...it makes it more of a "dynasty list" perhaps?

anyway - your thoughts and feedback are appreciated (as is doing this list)

I got the formula from alblack56 who came up with it. It only counts the last 5 years so anything beyond that gets booted. I have considered trying to come up with a superdynasty list that would include the last 10 years, but I think I would need some input from some statisticians to come up with a quality formula.

I definitely agree that teams that have made the tourney over the last 10 years should be high on the list. That would be one limitation of the dynasty list in its current form.

The formula is weighted so the result 5 years ago does not count as much as the most recent season. You have to make the postseason 4 of the 5 years to make the list (which is why Chadron St. went from unranked to high on the list....they had had success in the more recent seasons under Blaank).
