Kamala Harris Topic

Interesting pick and take on the pick round these parts, so far.

At 1st I reacted very negatively......... for many of the same non-specific reasons that Dahs cited. She IS just so ambitious.

But, after musing on it for awhile, and considering some of the downsides of the other choices/possibilities, and conceding to myself that my personal favorite wasn't gonna get picked I came around to the position that it's a pretty solid pick.

Appeals to BOTH factions within the party. The factions with some real strength. Maybe not so much with the fringe.

Plus, I think it's a smart signal of Biden's to the "colored's" and the BLM folks, etc. I (personally) would have preferred a Latina because it would really help win States like mine (AZ) or NM/TX but at the end of things Harris appeals to the "have not" crowd and IF they vote that will be huge.

So, bottom line for me is, (what with Biden stating he's only gonna serve one term) that I kinda like the pick. I think Harris has the hutzpa to speak up to Biden on pertinent issues like race, and economic disadvantages (of all basis--like poor rural for example) AND I think he likes and respects her enough to listen.

Then, I just hope that some other Democrat comes out of nowhere to take the nomination in 2024.

But, we do miss out on Mayor Bottoms though.
My personal favorite was/is the Gov. of NM. (That would have allowed me to vote for a NM Governor 2 elections in a row! lol)

But I gotta admit, I'll definitely miss out on trying to make my "Bottoms Up" campaign slogan go national.
I was already working on the graphics.
I sent Mayor Bottoms an e-mail and asked her if she'd sit on her copy machine, hit print and send me a copy.
No word back yet!

I'm willing to bet (and someone can take me up on this if they want) that IF Trump wins this November, by 2024 there will be more QAnon believers in Congress than there will be Squad members.

To all3 literally everyone is "radical left" so nothing Biden would do would have mattered. Biden could have picked John Kasich, and all3 would have decried the rise of socialism in the Democratic Party.

I'm not a big Kamala fan either, but when it comes to moderates, I'd much rather have one that's ambitious than one that's principled. Makes it easier for Progressives in Congress to push them left.
Ok maybe I'll be scared again. I have progressive-phobia
tang spreading more of his lies. Thanks for sharing (not that I had any doubt he was).
Can't imagine why anyone still reads posts by someone why twists facts and truths so far, so frequently. It's a true waste of time.

all3 holding tang to higher standards than the POTUS. He admits Trump lies, but that won't deter him from voting for Trump. tang supposedly (in all3's view) lies on a sports web site and all3 refuses to read his posts anymore. So, it is acceptable for the leader of your country to constantly lie, but it is not okay for some guy you never met to lie on a sports web site. Makes perfect sense to me.

See Uofa, IF you were interested in facts at all, you'd know that I don't read anything the POTUS says either.
You keep making ***-umptions, and proving the old adage correct. Keep up the good work.

That's a dodge, and it misses the point. You wouldn't vote for me either.

How many think Trump's done so poorly you are ready to pay reparations?
8/13/2020 11:17 AM
you should prolly just delete that before someone quotes it and you're stuck with it for all eternity

Nah. I'll just add supporting evidence.

You think that's a gotcha?

You're reaching, big time.

Not a gotcha. Just her own words.
I'm just asking the question.

my eight year old told me one time Sorry doesn't do anything

so i bought him a play station game and he was good

No, the risk that Kamala Harris, as vice President, will sign a bill granting reparations is low.

To clarify, she was asked if, as President, she would sign a bill granting reparations, not positively push for reparations. So again, this is a stretch.

You honestly think that a Biden Administration is going to push for black reparations, an extremely unpopular position among everyone in this country?
