Chuck Wepner???

Chuck Wepner Ali a tough fight near the end of his career before he got knocked out in the 15th round.
Sly Stallone saw the fight and that’s what inspired Rocky.

Wepner had a very solid career. He beat a lot of good fighters. He lost to Liston also.
He was called the Bayone Bleeder. He was better IMO then Quarry and a tip 2nd tier fighter.
A lot of heart and was a very good sport.

nice list, but I think I'd have David Letterman rather than Carson. I liked Carson (I don't like Leno) but liked Letterman more. Ever watch Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul? Both are very well done.

Good point. I haven’t seen them but they are on my Netflix list. I’m sure they would make the list.

Jay, if you do not love the singing and voice of Ella Fitzgerald I think you are missing out on something amazing.
I don’t know about the opinions of Dino and Sammy but Frank and Tony both rate her as their number 1.

If isn’t her best or most famous song but I never get tired of her performance of Miss Otis Regrets.

In my list of Pop singers I am a connoisseur of the singers of the standards. My list is not based on hearing smatterings. If anyone is unfamiliar with any of my choices I can assure you that they are all very special.

It is a great list! I already made a comment because you missed Ella when you mentioned first class choices. I’ll leave the comment. I knew it would make no sense for you to not appreciate Ella.

funny thing I have at times played her for someone who did not know who she is and ask the person to describe her and it always turns out to be looking like someone like Julie London.

I have no quarrel with Karen Carpenter and btw John Lennon was a fan of the Carpenters.
Based on your entries was Mama Cass a consideration.

Karen Carpenter did a version of Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, the original of which I love to pieces.

Allison Krause has the kind of pure beauty in her voice also.
