Quote post by dahsdebater on 7/13/2022 7:35:00 PM If God is perfect, and God thinks it's critically important that everyone is born with a clear and immutable biological gender, how does he allow people to be born with mixed genitals?
I can attempt to answer this, but I also want to try to understand/be cautious of the intent of the question.
God is perfect, AND stuff happens. It's part of the age old question why do bad things happen to good people. Why are some born deformed and others aren't ? Why does lightning strike and kill a good person ? Why does a pastor's teenage daughter die in a car crash while scum of the earth such as myself and others continue to live, maybe even the drunk who caused the crash ?
The Christian viewpoint is God 'allows' bad often for the better good, and bad only started to happen when sin and rebellion by people entered the world in the garden. God could if he wanted not allow bad to happen, but then who would turn to Him in their own strength. If not for Columbine high school maybe I miss an opp to reflect and ask questions and find Him.
It's ok to ask questions without malicious intent or agenda if your mind isn't already made up another way and trying to trip up someone else. Just be open to and ready for an answer, specially if you ask it of Him. In a bet between God and the devil, Job of the Bible known at the time as one of the most God-honoring men lost a fortune and his family in a single day. He did question God about it, in a bit of an understandable hissy. God's reply ? Who are you to question the One who puts the sheep on a thousand hills, who tells the mighty ocean waves only to this point may you come ? In the end, Job did not reject God.
God IS perfect. AND stuff happens.
Now, are you asking an honest question, or trying to make a point that you want nothing to do with a God who let's stuff happen ? By the way, doesn't stuff still happen to others who believe in something else or even nothing at all ?
I am asking an honest question, but not to you. The part of the premise of people like LnF that I take issue with is not about God being perfect, it's the part where humans can somehow have perfect knowledge of Him on topics that aren't touched in the Bible. So, in my original wording, the bit about the clear and immutable biological gender.
My problem is not with Christianity. I consider myself a Christian. Before the pandemic I attended church every week. My dad is a pastor. What I take issue with is people using Christianity as an excuse to closed-mindedly attack others and belittle their personal experiences.
Ahhhhh. Rhetorical, gotcha. Sorry, I spose I hadn't read enough of your stuff yet. My defenses kicked in as that's the typical type of "let's-try-to-condradict-and-confuse-and-trip-them-up" question or comment employed by doubters and take liberties and leaps from well if this is garbage then that must be garbage so must too mean the entire Bible is garbage and while we're at it let's include this loser guy Jesus and his hahaha God-father as garbage and uhhmmm heaven and hell who knows or cares if they're real but probly garbage also.
My bad, carry on.
Enjoy life.
Consider eternity.
i didn’t read any of the DDB posts just yours.
I guess you do not realize that he is the son of a minister yet I have never seen him impose his religious beliefs on anyone in these forums.
If you are considering eternity consider life first.
Alright, I took the bait and peeked, not sprised you'd stop by in record time. I thought you'd lambaste me for Jesus talk outside of your religion thread, which is why I peeked with a ready response that I'll back burner for now.
Many Christians or at least many who call themselves as such don't speak up for Christ publicly for a variety of reasons. Maybe they're Sunday morning armchair Christians. Maybe they fear ridicule or rejection. Maybe they share elsewhere and/or by different means. Sure, there's a place and a time. Everyone at work knows of my conviction but I don't go on about it in the boardroom.
I've never initiated shoving my Jesus down anyone's throat. Only when someone starts in with their hatred do I step in, and will always do so.
Your response just now and earlier question on the proper or translated name of the thief on the cross which you've already been corrected was mismatched stories but no harm no foul in and of itself were tame enough, for you. Thank you and I look forward to its hopeful continuance.
