This is a combination of players I haven’t seen before. I kinda dig it. Anyone else remember when Jordan was the consensus first pick in this league? I’m assuming his most expensive season is being used because otherwise I foresee an ast% deficit. Towns and Barry bring a nice parcel of efficient threes. Helpful boards from the backcourt, and no one is a revolving door on defense. I’ll be surprised if this crew doesn’t make the playoffs

What was I thinking:

I used Shaq recently so thought I tried MJ at this cap. Using 89-90 with 18% ast. The starting lineup is over 60% and will be higher when Rose is on the floor. MJ shoots 37.8% from 3's that season. With Towns at the 4 shooting 3's I could use Harrell at the 3. Like his PNT% in combo with Jordan/Towns. Barry, Towns, and Harrell shoot it really well. Offense should be humming. Camby and MJ provide strong D. Harrell and Barry are decent. Towns isn't. More of an outscore you type team.

Haven't really done well in this league so we will see how this team does. At 19.8 this is the fewest minutes I have had and the best rebounding team I have put together. Cautiously optimistic.

your evaluation is very nice but I am fairly certain that I drafted a crap team starting with Jerry Lucas and went off the cliff thereafter - that said Vanderbilt is 100% at SG and offsets some of the Durantula's shortcomings in the rebound department

Many other notables not drafted but I am going to wait after everyone turns in their lineups to discuss. I will say it was very nice to see Ewing get drafted this season as well as Marques Johnson and T.Brandon. I feel like they are worthy. No surprise that Haliburton, Morant, & Diallo made teams. Was surprised, but not in a bad way, that Webber, Arvydas, and A. Bynum made teams. I am sure they will do well and am rooting for them when not playing against me.

I think Defense Ratings may hold some of these players back. Is it the reliance on the
three that draws D ratings lower? It's hard to believe some of these players don't have
the ability to defend and gain a better rating.
Unfortunately I think the time may be up for most of the 60's,70's & early 80's stalwarts.
Frazier, West, Unseld etc. just don't have the efg% and TO% to compete.
Has the game changed so drastically or has some of this ridiculous floor spacing
made defense more difficult. I think the old days of sixties & seventies was more
hand to hand combat in the paint.
In 2 to 3 years will MJ drop to 12- 15? unthinkable? Sir Charles 3rd Rd.?
Will these hi Usage / 60> efg% w/ 10 TO% dominate the board?
Look how much has changed in these drafts since 2009!

I would like to think that Bam hasn’t peaked yet. He’s only 24.

There’s some spots remaining in the Decade Draft League if anybody is interested. Should be fun, doing the 1970’s

I don’t either, but it’s possible he could make it to the 1/2 turn.
