Yes years ago that was the way. I can remember the commish making arbitrary picks for tardy players.

I had to do that a few times as commish.

everyone is in except mussopini, who actually sent me his keeper, but unfortunately he protected Seaver who had already been drafted. He knows the timed list doesn't take effect until tomorrow. Since he made the effort, I may postpone the draft a few hours tomorrow before I make a selection for him. Lets see what happens in the morning.

The truth is, we are NOT behind schedule at all. I don't time drafts for Sundays, so even though we went the weekend without any action, we have not been delayed to this point.

As a person with two full-time jobs (something new for me this fall), I can attest to how difficult it is to find 3 minutes to log on. At my new job, my cell phone toggles between 1 bar and "No Service," and that's where I am sometimes 12-14 hours each weekend day. The internet has become an afterthought when we are super busy.
