So stingray - what is your explaination of (at D1AA) of 5 CV each cycle yesterday (5 cycles - 25 offers with 14 accepted 15K spent) why a SIM is still hanging on? And he is 400 mi further away from the recruit!
I realize that most of the time, competing with SIMs takes the scholarship minimum or minimum # of CV visits ( a distinct advantage for teams with higher vision who don't see much SIM competition and battle for mostly undecideds). But why would a SIM be able to compete for 150% of the scholarship amount for me with a 20-30% increased CV cost and still be in this? Why would and should WIS place this level of competition from the SIM? IF I go after a 3-SIM player and know I may have to give the schoalrship value or x # of CV to turn him, that is my decision. But when I go after a 3-SIM player and spend 150 + % on him (with no visible human competition) then the game IS skewed towards the house.
The distance a SIM is away from a recruit is irrelevant.
There are many factors in play. The SIM school could be where the recruit wants to go and maybe the recruit doesn't want to go to school close to home.
You are a 1st year coach at a bad school. You have everything going against you. You have little to no prestige and that also works against you.
You may already be "ahead", but not enough to turn him green. Keep offering CVs.
Once you turn that school around, you will be able to knock of I-A SIMs and I-AA SIMs will be much easier.
