NBA 2011-12 general nonsense Topic

Where did I say he had better range?  Where did I even say he's definitely more deserving?  Who was the 1st to bring up stats (which we all know are not a true indication of how good a player is)?  All I said was that he shouldn't be so quickly dismissed because he has obviously worked on his jumper, since it's much better this season.  Last season he would be wide open, yet hesitate or even pass-up the shot, but this season it's going-up right away and going-down pretty regular.  Anyone who watched him play more than a few minutes both last season and this should have noticed the obvious difference.  I'm not a fan of his or the Clippers, but in today's NBA where so few players actually seem to work on their weaknesses it's very refreshing to see someone who obviously has, and I think he should be acknowledged for doing so.

Griffin over Love or Aldridge while inevitable due to the selection process being in the hands of the fans is kind of nope
I think Griffin has improved both his offensive variety and his defensive intensity (look at his block #s) to the point this is certainly arguable.
Better reread.  Doesn't say should and doesn't say over who.  Says he shouldn't be dismissed as easily as you make it sound, like he is Matt Barnes or somebody like that.
BTW, did we discuss his increased assists yet?

How is "kind of nope" being dismissive?  Love is the obvious all star starter - that is all!

now if I'd written 'kind of narp' that would be dismissive

Again, everybody's entitled to their own opinion (and it will only ever be an opinion), but back to my original and only real point, which is that with the improvement of Blake's game at both the offensive and defensive ends of the court, I don't believe it's "obvious" at all.  You disagree.  Fine.  Reposting our opinions over and over isn't going to change either of our minds, so why is it wrong to agree to disagree?

1) 'btw did we discuss his increased assists yet?' by which you mean decreased? (from 3.6 per 36 to 3.1 per 36)

2) 'dismissive' - Love is clearly the choice this year and all I said was "kind of nope" but really Love is all alone and Griffin is nicely nested on a team with a bunch of other threats that takes the pressure off him

NY lands JR Smith.  He is a nice addition to any team and could be a real killer in the D'antoni system.  Meanwhile Amare's touches will continue to decline.

Agreed. Knicks have been awful on 3s as well. This addition also gives Bill Walker, Fields, and Shumpert more bench time.

Blake may have improved, but he isn't better than Love.  Love has almost 3 more win shares on a team that has 4 fewer wins total.  When you say Blake has greater defensive intensity you fail to notice that Love has more defensive win shares as well.
