in other news everyone and their mother is now tweeting that Kawhi is trying to force a trade to the Lakers
Yes, imagine LeBron, Kawhi, PG13 and bunch of new veteran players. I think that would be the first time in NBA history that one team doesn't feature any of the players they had the season before...

OK, which one of you guys taught my Mother how to tweet?

wasn't me. Nobody has taught me yet.

There's no way LA gets LBJ, PG13 + Kawhi, is there?
Since Randle is a Texas boy, maybe he agrees to a sign & trade as part of a Kawhi deal? That sure would help. (Is it even "doable" by NBA rules?)

From what I've heard, it's possible, but I think no one would stay, everybody would have to be traded...there are also those media guys who are mentioning CP3 in the mix, instead of PG13...

So basically, in order to have cap room for two max guys, after getting Leonard, they would have to trade for example Deng+Ingram+Ball/Kuzma in order for salaries to match. I saw that on ESPN. Also they might have to throw in this years' first rounder for San Antonio to agree...if the Spurs even want to have that discussion at all...I don't see Pop giving up Leonard so easily.

he's got to get something or watch him walk next summer - I'm sure other teams can make better offers (Woj mentioned Boston) but are they going to want to risk a one year rental situation when Kawhi has stated market preference? it will be interesting to see how this shakes out

even if they do, they probably have nothing but guys making close to the minimum for the rest of the roster. Not much of a bench.

but historically, useful guys have been willing to take those haircuts to play on teams like that for a chance to get that ring

Yeah, so I don't buy the whole "not much of a bench" thing when we talk about gutting rosters for super teams. It happened in Miami. It happened in GS. It'll happen wherever Lebron ends up if he goes somewhere with at least one other star, as long as that place isn't Cleveland, as people have shown they don't want to go there for one reason or another.

I see we have a Nets' fan weighing-in on what their team should do. :-)

I though he was talking about the Knicks. Sad to see a once proud franchise sunk so low. I blame it on Phil Jackson.

I think you may have misspelled James Dolan

I think the answer is both. Even though Phil was responsible for drafting Porzingis, at this point I don’t think Kristaps will stay. Scott Perry and Steve Mills might be good at this, though. We’ll see
