I am surprised, both that this Boone lasted this long and that you were the one to take him.

I'm also surprised he lasted this long. Although I don't know why it's a surprise that I took him. I needed to save some salary (I have Posada catching full-time). I do have the option of replacing '02 Giambi with '90 Brett at 1B, if I need to save a million in cap room.

I just figured you'd use the 2002 Pudge, and then you'd need a few more PAs from your Boone. But what you're doing is more efficient. It just goes to show that assuming how other owners will build their teams is a fool's errand, which is probably why I'm attempting it...

Ahh, yes - I briefly looked at Ivan Rodriguez, but he was a little too pricey for his part-time status. I also considered going with the '77 Phillies platoon of Boone and McCarver (dropping Posada), and that would have allowed me to add Garber as well, but bheid408 selection this morning squelched that idea.
