Round 1 Themes, 2019 Topic

I just got back from vacation (and 18 hours of travel to get home). A bit jet lagged.

Good question. That would be sort of a loophole, or at least go against the spirit of the league. Let's say that each of the 3 versions you use must cost at least 1M.

Cool themes. Should be tun.

I think I know the answer to this one, but just to confirm...

In the $120M league, no two players can come from the same year, right? So I can't have a staff of 6 1908 pitchers and 4 1918 pitchers.

No brian, that's my staff.

Clarification for the $110M theme:

Since you have to use 3 seasons over $1M and they all have to come from different franchises, I assume the BBR reference is to what is considered a different franchise (and not to find that a player has played for another franchise but that season isn't WIS eligbile)?

Yeah, correct. One player per year.

Correct!

130 mil

However, in Round 2 you will be required to build a 130M team for which you draft 8 hitters with greater than 500 PA/162 who all hit more HRs than your player with the highest amount on this team.

Similarly, the highest HR/9 on your pitching staff from this team will serve as the minimum you are able to draft in Round 2.

Is this based on RL HR or Sim HR? Same Q for HR/9. In other words, if I draft a guy with 20 RL HR and he hits 30 in the sim, which number would i use as the baseline for Round 2?

110 mil theme, can you use more than 3 clones or only 3 exactly?

Only 3 exactly

In 130M league, you can't draft any hitters in both R1 and R2. But it wasn't clear whether you could draft any of the same pitchers. Does 'minimum' here mean in R2 everyone has to have a higher HR/9, or does it mean they can't have a lower HR/9? I.e., is having the same HR/9 good enough?

Good callout -- the intention is for it to be the same for both pitchers and hitters (i.e. your Round 2 team stats must be higher). I'll edit the wording

Variable Cap: Minus XY
Your team's salary cap will be 180M - x*y

x = number of distinct seasons on your 25 man roster
y = number of distinct franchises on your 25 man roster

Ex: If my team is made up of only players from the 2018 Yankees, my salary cap would be 179M (180 - 1*1). If I decide to also swap one player out for 2018 Jacob deGrom, my salary cap goes down to 178M since deGrom plays for the Mets and my team is now made up of players from 2 franchises (180 - 1*2 = 178). If I decide to keep deGrom and also swap out a different player for 1920 Babe Ruth, my cap drops to 176M (180 - 2*2).

Other Specifics
Seasons: All
DH: No
WW: No
AAA: No
Trades: No
Clones: No
Injuries: Turned On
Multi-team players: You cannot use combined seasons
Ballpark: Use a park the one of your franchises played in
300K Exception: No
Team Name: Include your salary cap
Division Alignment: Random
In the example cited, can I then use other members of the 2018 Mets and/or 1920 Yankees without reducing the salary further? I've already taken the penalty for that franchise/season, right, regardless of how many players I take from that additional team?

Correct

Just to clarify, for $130M:

The hitter homer numbers are based on total, correct? Not a rate? So a guy with 150PA and 5 HR counts as a guy with 5 HR?
