I don't think you will either.  It's too much of an Otis Smith style desperation move, and to be honest I'm not even certain that Ainge goes for it given Pau's age and the extra $ he earns since it still leaves us behind Miami and Chicago.

I'm thinking the Celtics make a minor move or two, ride out this year, and then (hopefully) trade Rondo during the draft.

Interesting Chart.

Damn not sure about the sizing.  If you quote it you can see it well.

So you want to trade up at Center (fine) and meanwhile have a gaping hole at PG.  New flash:  PP is not Kobe.  KG can't board like Bynum.  You get a very old and soft team with no PG.

Interesting Chart.

Why are we looking at the shot chart for a PG?  Perhaps because unlike the rest of the team, he can actually draw fouls?

Pierce draws more fouls than Rondo.

I should hope so, he is the main offensive player for the team.  Also Rondo has about the same number of steals per game as personal fouls.  That is a good thing.

Also questionable is Pau vs. Rondo regarding VALUE which is what a trade is about.

Rondo's age does have value because you can trade him again after 3-5 years, whereas Pau will be done for.

Rondo-Kobe-Bynum is not a bad lineup at all especially defensively.  THEN you can get a Sessions and be on the edge of contention.  At least they might not lose to the Wizards?!

we dont want Rondo, thanks

you guys have to trade Rondo or face a longer period of mediocrity, but Pau wont help on that front so you dont want Pau either

so lets put this talk to bed like the rest of the world seemingly has

I never really said it did, but it does get you younger.

That said, can LA get much worse?  You lost to Washington and it was no fluke.  LA is not a "great" team.  That was clear last year in the playoffs.  Getting 1 good bench guy will not turn LA into a contender.

Rondo gives you excellent young role players at 2 positions to build on.  Like Boston, you are not a contender anytime soon without a major shakeup.
