Because of the salary ranges. If there is no one left in front of you in that range you are allowed to make that pick.

So, just so I understand correctly, if you are picking the final player in a salary range, even if you have other selections before that, you can use the final round pick on that selection proactively? It makes sense on paper, but I am excusing myself for speaking up, as it can be quite confusing.

it just seems as though I picked last in the first round and with this trick, both of my picks are basically last in the last round....which kind of seems like its a little unfair? anyways my guy is gone so ill need some time

I picked 24th last time, and I don't think it is unfair - it's just confusing skipping rounds. I'd prefer that draft ahead only makes sense if it is your next pick.
