I'm thinking Wentworth Tech and chewchad are about to make up for their poor noncon showing.

I'm not trying to knock on Elizabethtown, and that coach has done a nice job getting them to 13-0, but I think their SOS has a whole lot to do with the situation.

Okay, Colby-Sawyer is 17-2 but played a patsy schedule for the most part. Sweet 16 caliber team or no?

Any decent team that has 9 seniors and a total of 11 upper-classmen always has a shot at making to the sweet 16. However, considering that your team only has two guys that are really capable of handling and distributing the ball, turnovers/assists will likely be the wild card that determines how far they will advance in the tourney - in my humble opinion. Interesting question though.

See, that's why I asked. I'm just using up the last of my Rupp credits, so I have no attachment to this team, be as brutal as necessary.

I'm surprised to see Donnellan doing so well offensively.

With the road win over Defiance and, as noted, the experience of the lineup, you're definitely capable of the Sweet 16.

That said, if I had to plunk some cash down on the subject, I'd wager against it right now simply because you're trending as a 10 seed currently in the projection report. that means your second round game would likely be against a 2 seed (or a 1 seed if you move up into an 8-9 seed position). I like your team, but I REALLY like the teams trending for the 1 and 2 seeds currently.

In other words, you like the Great NE.... which seems to have a lock on all the top seeds!  That league is crazy good.  Hard to see anyone beating J&W this season in the NT, in my humble opinion.

This was exactly my thought.  C-S probably has a lot better chance of a Sweet 16 if they lose a couple games and drop to an 11 or 12 seed.  With all that IQ, they're definitely capable of winning a couple games against higher seeds..but way tougher against the 1s and 2s.

I love the GNE, even if it is handing me my lunch on pretty much a nightly basis (next year maybe....next year...). There's several non-GNE squads lingering up at the top of the projection report that I've been fond of since the preseason as well. It could be a very interesting national tournament bracket to break down once everything gets set.

Looking at J & W... like Penn St. Altoona last year, they may just run the table.  That team is loaded top to bottom.  spas has even started 2 freshmen all year - so he may be able to tweak things a little more once the NT starts.  Of course, I am starting to wonder if good freshmen starting actually makes the team better.  It brings totally superior players off the bench to just fry the other guys back-ups... esp. when you run press and have to go 10-12 deep anyway.

Brian, that's definitely part of why I do it.  I think people a lot of times assume starting a FR will cost you games, but it doesn't have to.  Granted it helps when they're as good as Tolley and Tarter sauce.  I was lucky to have both those guys less than 70 mi from campus.  The nice thing is those 2 will be maxed out early in their careers from all this early PT, so I can do the same thing with the next crop of FR.  I think it puts the entire team ahead of the curve once you get it rolling.

Looking forward to facing Rivier tomorrow night.  I think JW has to be the favorite, but they're definitely capable of pulling the upset.

No upset for Rivier.... the J & W train rolls on!

Makes for a boring season for the rest of us.  I've been too busy to look at other teams that may vie for the final four.  J&W looks like a lock.  Barring an upset, i think Hardin-Simmons is in the final 4...  Newbury also have a vote... although they have been beat by 3 different teams making me think they can be upset.  I have a feeling 2 out of 4 spots will be up for grabs by about 5 potential teams (Newbury and Rose-Hulman Tech at the top, Louisiana perhaps, Susquehanna has some great wins, US Merchant Marines...)

Who's got the other spot??

Huge game tonight in the ASC between Hardin-Simmons and Texas Lutheran. Given what both have done to this point in the year, I definitely think whoever wins it should be considered a frontrunner for Final Four status, at least for a week, when they could well hit each other in the CT title game and do it all over again.

I thought with tough competition that JW would have gotten simmed over at least once so far. Their train hasn't slowed obviously. I'd like to say Brandeis is in the mix with good ath spd d, but lack of scorers (see team shooting percentage) and no dominant rebounding scares me. Tx Lutherans team speed is elite with strong post play and decent perimeter but that D is porous. But I don't like betting against blapo in the tourney.

Long story short, there's teams to be scared of, but with flaws. I'm just hoping other conference's best take out all those GNE teams!
