I feel that I may be a bit early on Noah, but I didn't think that he would be around next time and my other needs can be picked up later (unless you all screw me...or I'm being a moron - which is always a possibility).

fully committed to offense........ and two 90+ defenders

So I have been cleaning my house all morning - it goes on the market tomorrow- and there were three guys I would really like to get. I shopped for another pick and actually got it- very surprising.

So...fully committed to offense I already am thinking of some one on round 5, feel free to guess. Just don't mention names, and I will see you in round 5.

I guess I'd sort of agree. He is a unique value, but he could've gone in the middle of the 3rd.

(Wait, that was your pick! Oh.....yeah, I agree with most of the rest of what you said, except for that last part.)

(I like the Bird/Noah tandem a lot.)

" I think this is a bit too early for Bob. He is a good scorer with decent defense and rebounding, but I think there are better options available who do pretty much the same thing. "

do a search using these parameters: def > 70, TO48 < 4, PF48 < 4, usg > 25 , efg > 55, drb > 24

(also of note he went in the first round last season)

What you missed: you are using arbitrary perameters and two of them don't have much relevance. It's easy to make a case for almost anyone if you can choose your own parameters. As I said, he is a good scorer with decent defense and rebounding. However, I think there were similar players who also added other things available, as well as one or two better scorers with similar defense and rebounding. I don't think it's a bad pick by any means, just earlier than I would take him.

And saying that he went in the first round last year (barely) would be a good argument if the owner who reached for him last season wouldn't have posted the worst record in the league by a comfortable margin.

he almost always goes right where I took him so I'm not sure how he's a reach, last season he went 24, the season before 23, before that 33 and before that 32 - this is pretty much where he's gone historically

(also having a guy with decent usage who doesn't turn the ball over much or get into foul trouble isn't arbitrary, it's a positive feature)

He does always go right around there and my point was that despite this I think he is more of a late 2nd early 3rd rounder. There is a specific player that he compares very well with that has never once gone before the 3rd round. McAdoo has less turnovers and fouls (although since to% wasn't calculated in 74 and wis just makes up stats from that era it's impossible to say for sure what his to% actually is), but the other player is better at everything else (although similar). I would personally take the other player over McAdoo straight up, although I can understand someone valuing McAdoo higher. Regardless, in my opinion, McAdoo has comparable value to a 3rd round pick and so a high 2nd rounder is too high for me to consider taking him. He's a good player, and despite last season, owner's have been somewhat successful with him. However, I still think it's a bit of a reach.

you'll have to let me know when that guy gets picked - in any event keep up the good work on the evals

Thanks, no disrespect intended on my analysis of your team. Just trying to do everything as objectively as possible, but these evals are really just one person's opinion

I'll be using 93-94 Horace Grant. Also, possibly a cheaper Kareem.

Edit: Whatever Kareem I use will still be one of his top $/min years.

I will do all the 2nd round observations as well as catch up on the individual team evals tomorrow around 11-1130 eastern time. I have a break between classes then and will be able to spend some time on it.

Larry Nance brings another 100D guy and is a very good boarder at the small forward, but amerk1180 just added another guy with an $8 million + price tag (with Nance's usually used season). I'm a little worried about how he is going to fit all that in to the cap and get enough minutes.

That makes two of us!  LOL

Actually planning on using Nance's 82-83 100D year at $7.5 mill if I can find a way to fit it.  As usual in this league, my crappy bench will be my demise and I just never learn.  I just couldn't pass on the Dream to give me a potent inside scorer to go with Jordan.  Gonna have to find a cheap asst/3 pt guy somewhere.

Yea, I'm in the same boat... Just with later draft picks.
