At 32-33 starts each, they WILL be going deep into games...no reason not to.
Yes and no. The IP/9 also factors in.
If you draft pitchers with high IP/9 then it isn't a concern.

Is what I liked about drafting the tandem pitchers. I was only looking for 3-4 innings per appearance from each. Obviously if they can do more, better for me...most that I'm using have fared pretty well.

My SPs are always set as available to come in in relief.

The only danger in that is that SIMMY far too often seems to bring in the next game's starter first, because they're usually the most rested. And then they don't skip that starter, so you end up with a guy starting at 60-80%, and can do nothing about it.

Depending on what your rest settings are set at...
3/22/2019 4:32 PM
Yeah, I've never had that happen unless he was the only pitcher available.

Sparky treats SPs as LRB’s. So they get priority over specialist roles I think. But I’ve had that happen before

Good point. For the uninitiated here, the SIM when in manager role is referred to as Sparky.

Division Crown (89 wins, but i gave a few games away at the end of the season) with a 5 man rotation, but bounced in round 1 of the playoffs again.

81 Bob Knepper
81 Larry Gura
75 Doug Rau
89 Bryn Smith
78 Craig Swan

Gura got lit up in two of my playoff losses.

I'm experimenting with a 7 man rotation in an OL right now...with one guy rotating in and out of the Long A spot:
16 Kershaw
18 Sale
05 Halladay
08 Sabathia
45 Prim
46 Rowe
1908 Steele

Each will end up with 20-22 starts, with a few games started by scrubs.
I'll report back on how they do.

Perhaps we need to do a 5+ rotation league...no more than 25, maybe 28 starts max by any pitcher...see how many ways there are to skin a cat.

Thoughts? Max 180 IP/162? A cap of $100M or less?
3/27/2019 10:01 PM
We're doing a 4 man rotation league right now, 5 man will be a future season of that
3/27/2019 10:12 PM
Okie dokie. For now i will continue my tandem sea trials...I'm using 3 tandems along with an inning eater...

Well the answer so far is "pretty well." Though I am obviously jinxing them by posting this, today they advanced to the World Series. Fatigue is a problem right now, but 7 SPs are so good that we've been able to get by despite pitching 1 or more guys in the low 90s almost every game in the postseason.

Scary rotation. I was almost relieved to lose to RS66 in the LCS so I wouldn't have to face you. When Schoolboy Rowe, who is your #6 or #7 starter, threw a CG shutout, I thought, "I'm outta here." Props on sticking with Elmer Steele and Jake Northrop regardless of their dynamic pricing increases. I thought I was the only one who stubbornly stuck w/ pitchers I liked no matter what SIM did to their price. Should be an interesting World Series.
