WISC $110M Question:

Player A plays for Franchises B, C and D.

Do the other 24 players have to have WIS eligible seasons for all three Franchises or just one of them?

Your team will be made up of 3 instances of Player A (one from Franchise X, Franchise Y and Franchise Z) + 22 other players.

The 22 other players must all come from Franchise X, Franchise Y or Franchise Z. It doesn't matter what other franchises they played for during their career.

I think this is a loophole in the 70M league, but I just wanted to check whether you intended it to be there. (Fwiw, my team doesn't exploit this loophole.)

There could be a player who has been active for some years, and already has enough PA or IP to qualify for 2019 WIS, but who missed 2018 through injury, suspension or playing elsewhere.

They will have 2017 listed as their last year of WIS eligibility.

Should they be playable in the 70M league?

Yeah, ditto with players who played in 1884 but not 1885 but came back in 1886. For ease of checking 96 rosters, blacklisting 1885 and 2018 is good enough.

Good call. Roster checking would be a nightmare if you have to research every single player and then send half the teams back to the draft center.

I think the scarier part is that Brian is already done with his 70M team (and maybe others?).

Then again, he's won 3 of the last 4 tournaments in odd-numbered years. He's like the anti SF Giants

I’m going to be away for most of July so if I don’t get started soon I’ll miss a bunch of deadlines.

And it it is fun to tinker with these teams.

I think you explained this well but just making sure I got the 3X franchise. If my chosen player is Greg Maddux and I choose his 1992 Chicago Cub year, his 1995 Atlanta Brave year, and his 2006 LA Dodger year. Each one is over 1 million dollar, I could still choose the 1953 Warren Spahn Milwaukee Brave year because of the Brave relationship even though they didn't play together. Correct?

Minor clarification for the variable cap league:

"Use a park that one of your franchises played in"

Does it have to be from a year we choose, or any year? Using your example, would we have to use Yankee Stadium from 2018 or 1927, or coud we use Yankee Stadium II?

Oh, sorry, misread that. For the variable cap league it needs to be a stadium from a team+season you are using

General FYI -- I think this has a chance to be one of the more competitive WISC fields ever. I'm going to run an analysis at some point over the next week or two to determine how the different years rank against each other in terms of difficulty. Hoping to get this done before I need to do owner rankings for this year so that I can weight past results by tournament difficulty

Question about the variable cap league.
When you say "distinct franchises" are we to go by BBR like the 110m league? Or are teams like the Browns/Orioles considered distinct franchises?
Thanks

Question re $70M theme:

Is Ruth eligible in the OF in 1918? It was his "first" season in WIS in the OF. 1915-17 were pitcher only seasons in WIS.

Thanks.
