I sincerely hope '68 Gibson doesn't wind up with an ERA north of 5.50. If he does, I'm probably having a poor season. That said, it's an astute observation and I probably should have thought more about having 2 lefties in the rotation at least.
I dont have many lefty arms at all in that league, but I concentrated on having the lowest erc# possible within reason. Gibson & Maddux are my 2 aces- while everyone else is 'barely good enough' for this cap- in my opinion.

I have not used Silver King often.

I've got Silver King settings as 120 TPC, 120 MPC as a pull of 1.

Which basically means I want him to pitch as many complete games as possible. First game Sparky takes him out at 83 pitches.

My other starters I want the Long relief to come in the 6th-7th inning. So unless I'm changing my settings every game, my Long relief will still come in for Silver King if he's just having an average game.

Same. Silver was set for 120TPC, 125MPC and was pulled after....83 pitches.... It was a tie game and he was PH for in the 7th. If I can remember to do it, I will set the PH frequency to never every other game (wen he starts) which is a pain in the *** to have to remember to do .

You can just uncheck his "PH" box in the hitter advanced settings.

My Silver hit his pitch 120 count leading with 2 out in the 9th - bases loaded - in walks Don McMahon - 4 runs up - gives up 3 straight hits. 5 runs cross the plate.

Seven 1 run games for us so far (out of 12 total). 10 games decided by 2 runs or fewer

I'm seeing a lot of right handed starters with really low HR/9 (<0.25) and >2 ERC# in the $130M theme where everyone has high average hitting teams. I think they are going to get destroyed by all the left handed average hitters...probably to the tune of 5.50-6.50 ERA lol.
64 Chance and 97 Clemens pitched two complete games for me. Maybe that’s just luck. I have Howie Pollet to keep LHBs honest.

but to be fair the games were played at cinergy which helped pitchers on both teams

Day 1:
The Good - a 13-5 start is absolutely as good as I could of hoped for, very pleased with that.
The Bad - my $120M team is 0-3 and has been outscored 32-9. I better hope that opponent is one of the best $120M teams out there.
The Ugly - the above mentioned $120M team ERA of 12.00 (and I chose 8 for my pitchers like about half the tourney).

I'll post theme stats soon, but "about half the tourney" is actually an underestimate. Over 50 people took xxx8 for pitching

18 games in, 2-5 in one run games and 11 games have been decided by 2 or less.

My $110M team has scored 2 runs total and is 2-1....

Kevin Brown chucked a one hitter for me in the calm before the storm league.

This division has the 3-5 top teams in the league in percentage of the cap spent on pitching, including mine.
I spent 51-52.5% of my cap on pitching in 3 leagues. (Which ranks in the top 5 in each)
I spent 49.6% on pitching in the $70M league.
I spent just 47.3% on pitching in the DH league.
I spent 55% on hitting in the variable cap league. (I'm a sucker, what can I say?)

In my brief MLB SIM career, I typically spend 50-53% (really 51-52) of the cap on pitching in most of the leagues I play in- Depending on the league set up. I have won a few titles spending the most in the league on offense in $255 cap leagues with 'pick you own way above Avg AAA guys'- which gives me the pitching I need

I used to occasionally run out teams with over 60% of the cap on hitting. I'm more 50/50 now, but I'm not sure it's right. Figuring out whether spending the last few million on hitting or pitching will be more valuable is tricky.

It feels like it should be 60/40 hitting/pitching because it should be 50/50 offence/defence, and a big chunk of what you spend on hitting is on defence, while pitchers contribute very little offensively. But I'm not sure it works out that way.
