If I do favorite authors it will be based on authors that I have read at least 3 of the author’s works.
good idea...here are my 20 favorite authors, in no particular order:
1 Larry McMurtry
2 John Sandford
3 John Lescroart
4 Carl Hiassen
5 Robert K Tanenbaum
6 Stephen King
7 David Rosenfelt
8 Dennis Lehane
9 Lee Child
10 Gillian Flynn
11 David Housewright
12 Paula Hawkins
13 William Kent Krueger
14 Tim Dorsey
15. Jane Harper
16. CJ Box
17 Linwood Barclay
18 Michael Connelly
19 Harlen Coben
20 Joseph Wambaugh,
as you can probably tell, I mostly read mysteries and police procedurals, some biographies, depending on the subject..
A lot of good stuff, Wylie. I think it is a fair comment to say that Ed McBain is the king of police procedurals.
Look him up in Wikipedia and if you decide to try one of his books go with an early one.
He had an alter ego pseudonym of Hunter something or another and did some very different and surprising things under that name.
I haven’t read Michael Connnely but I have almost all of his books. He does Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer.
The Lincoln Lawyer is on Netflix - amazing !!!!!
Re King Stephen King - His son Joe Hill is now king. For real. I dare anyone to read NISFRTU and not agree that the heir apparent is apparently here.
