Aaron Rowand - OF
With the selection of Rowand - we have a starting lineup for this season, or at least potentially.  The 8 offensive players I have so far, have a combined defensive rating of A-/A-...

Hoping that defense will help our mediocre pitching and our mediocre offense, and get us past the first round.

This is the 2009 draft so far... I figured the average salary was the relevent to take, most teams probably have a starting rotation, a starting lineup, and a few relief pitchers at this point, although some may not have a full lineup yet, or a full rotation, I know I need more starts yet, and the choices are not pretty.  But I thought you guys might want to see a comparison.  Not sure how this translates to the season ahead, but we will see soon enough.

The ordinal position is your ranking from the highest average salary (1) to the lowest average salary (28) to date.

Enjoy!!

toddleduc - Thanks for asking, jrnyfan01 - Thanks for clarifying.  I choose the ordinal term versus rank simply becuase I did not want to imply that I was ranking or rating the teams.  The quality of the team is not necessarily defined by average salary and I have not done any correlation between wins and average salary, in many leagues we see teams post the total salary, but as we all know the team with the highest salary does not always win the league, it is the distrubtion of that salary that has a greater impact.  Anyway, I have my excel draft spreadsheet setup to do a number of breakdowns to theoretically help me with the draft.  My problem like many people is, however over analysis, or as some say paralysis by analysis.  I get to a stage where I think   these X guys are going to be selected before I pick again, and which one do I want, and which ones do I let go, and then after my selection, I watch how many actually go, and I adjust my pool for determing the next round, and it helps to know for example that the guys drafting ahead of me all need x or y or z.   Anyway I am just glad to be a part of this group, and I look at many of the owners in this league as the best and brightest of the WIS world.

Ross Detwiller - P for mw100
I had P, Jason Frasor as my first choice and I don't see him taken.  Jason Frasor should be my 8 AM pick, not Ross Detwiller, Detwiller was my 2nd choice.
