lol be more reactive.
obviously last night sucked, but i'd sort of like to see when our best player is in as opposed to the worst player in the league.
firesale would be retarded, they can't get any value out of any of their vets. riding it out is the correct move.
I thought they should rebuild before the season began and I've seen nothing that should change that opinion. The Celtics are an old team that still has the same offensive problems they have had for years, but now don't have the legs, conditioning, etc. to be the elite defensive team that they have been. Getting Pierce back isn't going to fix any of those problems.
The simple truth is, if you aren't a legit title team or a team on the way up, than you should be rebuilding. The Celtics, Spurs, and a few others are in that no mans land of good enough to make the playoffs but not good enough to ever be better than a first or second round exit without major changes to the roster construction.
The Celtics have 3 expiring contracts of varying sizes on players that could still help a title contending team win this year. If they don't move them before the deadline they won't be able to utilize them as assets at all and it will set the rebuilding process back. I don't know what sort of value Allen, Garnett, and O'Neal have, but if the C's can get any sort of young players or draft picks for them (especially if it doesn't affect next summer's cap space), they should move them and just go into full bore rebuilding.
