Christ, I can't believe we're back to arguing about this.

A ball in play is always better, from the perspective of the offense, than a strikeout. Because a ball in play isn't an out. From the perspective of the pitcher, a strikeout is better for the exact same reason.

Regarding Judge, if he can alter his approach in a way that increases his OBP while maintaining his power, great. That would be awesome. I'm not sure it's possible. Maybe it is.
