Vote for everyone who's numbers show they're deserving from that time because they planned during a generation where MLB essentially encouraged roid use.

If you're using after that time, **** off, you're not in under any circumstances.

A-Rod, in or out?

Proof that he used during that period.   He was also one of the best in baseball.

Expected use recently.   And he's about an average 3B.

So, do you vote him in for the first half of his career or exclude him for using in the 2nd half of his career?

Vote him in.

You'd put pretty much anyone in as evidenced from all the HOF discussion.   I'm asking burnsy because of his stance on 'roiding.

BL's Hall of Fame would have around 6,500 enshrinees.

Not anyone. Just guys whose performance on the field merits inclusion. Bonds, Clemens, Arod in. Jack Morris, Jim Rice, Andre Dawson out.

Maddux should be first-ballot HOF.  Glavine should be in.  Biggio is marginal, but I'd probably put him in.

Clemens, Bonds, Piazza and Bagwell are tainted,

Thomas, Raines and Trammell has very nice careers.  But not HOF careers.
Frank Thomas had a very nice career but not HOF career?  LMFAO

I'm expecting a suspension here for steroid use.  So, out.  Otherwise, in.

Not sure why that's funny.  Have you seen his numbers?  He's certainly in the conversation.

That, too. Thomas hit 301/419/555 with a 156 OPS+ over 10,000 PA.

It's funny that tec runs around questioning everyone else's baseball knowledge.

OK.  I'll give you Frank Thomas.

I missed the "not" here.  Sorry, worms.

Since 1901, there are 21 players with an OPS+ of 150 or better and more than 7500 plate appearances.

Ruth
Williams
Bonds
Gehrig
Hornsby
Mantle
Cobb
Pujols
McGwire
Foxx
Musual
Speaker
Thomas
Mays
Aaron
DiMaggio
Ott
Manny Ramirez
Frank Robinson
Wagner
Lajoie

I'm fairly certain that McGwire is the only eligible player on that list not in the Hall of Fame. Most of those guys are inner circle, best of the best hall of famers.

Also, Bagwell is the very next name with an OPS+ of 149.

He peaked early and fell off in his 30s.  And the fact that he DHed for half of his career doesn't help him.  But he's got my vote.  I wouldn't call it a slam dunk for the reasons stated.

In all seriousness, I'd like to see the baseball HOF voting process adopt the process the NFL uses by cutting the list down to a select group of finalists, and then voting only on those players.  There is no reason for players like Aaron Sele, Jay Bell, and Jim Deshaies to even appear on a HOF ballot, let alone receive a vote.
