Looks like my starters will be at 140 ast. And that's with bringing Noah and Rondo off the bench.

I have 12 million for 6000 bench minutes so bench will at least be good enough.

From what I figure 60-70 % assists is the "sweet spot" the maximum needed to have best effect. I think more than that is...well, not wasted but money better spent elsewhere.

Hard to say with rebounds, They used to be the most predictable thing in the sim, now it is hard to say what will happen.

As far as efg% is concerned, considering all of open leagues, theme leagues, and the ODL last four times, the higher I drive it the shittier my teams are. Which is starting to **** me off just a little.

ashamael has some good stuff about as% leveraged at over 100% in the other forum - I think 60-70 is enough but would not characterize it as "maximum needed to have best effect"

my idea is "what is the maximum of assists in a game you will see vs. the number of shots you take". I don't think I have ever seen a game with mote than 70 % assists, so spending beyond that is money likely better spent elsewhere. Probably. And I meant to say minimum needed for best effect.

of course it is also true that you won't get more than 4300 or so rebounds in a season no matter what you do, but where that relates to Creb % I cannot determine.( I got burned a few ODL's ago to the tune of about 800 missing rebounds, so I don't consider it to be as reliable as everybody else does). Where do high efg % and forcing turnovers fit into this, as they are so much higher than RL basketball?

In any case there is this hypothesis, hopefully testable: 1.) what are the minimum %'s in category 'X' to be competitive? 2.) What is the maximum where you are wasting money getting more? 3.) Do you get better value having these values smoothly distributed as 20-20-20-20 or does 40-0-40-0 work just as well?

Something to work on, anyway.

As another aside, due to Benhoidal 's ripping of my first available pick.

How many guys in the Sim have seasons with 24% usage, 52% efg, 10 % Oreb 17 % Dreb and 10 % assists with an 80 or better defense?

Precisely five: Wilt, Shaq, Hakeem, Artis Gilmore and Elton Brand. And Brand has the 2nd best defense and second lowest fouls + turnovers of any of those seasons. Plus he is 100% at the 3.

now change those parameters to u30% e57% o10% d20% a10% def80+...

in the second round?

3 of the 5 guys you listed aren't 2nd round talent - and the looser parameters (esp. the Usg/Efg matrix) are the true differentiators

Didn't rip your pick. I actually really like Brand in the SIM. What I said was that he is not nearly as good as Wilt. I comfortably stand by that.

Wait... You are seriously starting Durant at center???

Grant Hill is playing 13 minutes there.

I think the high assist thing can work in the 52 mil but is really difficult to pull off here given salary constraints. And your high-assist experiment will probably be considerably worse in terms of rebounding than previous efforts.

Also, why would you not start Noah?  That one confuses me.

Grant Hill doesn't have a single season with over 95% at the center position. Why would you draft him as your starting center?
2/4/2015 9:35 PM
he said hill is playing 13 mins at center
2/5/2015 12:15 AM
And since Noah is not starting, Hill must be starting. Or Durant, or one of the other players he drafted, none of which are more than 97% at center.
