If you don't mind me asking, what's the difference between this thing, and whatever The Juice does?

If you don't mind me asking, what's the difference between this thing, and whatever The Juice does?
Juice does themed tournaments, usually based around dividing the history of baseball in certain ways and having everyone involved use some slice of history. The WISC offers up six themes of various difficulty in terms of cap, research time required, the basis of the themes (franchise based, twist based, stat based, etc) and always puts you up against top competition. Everyone who participates is given free reign to approach each theme however they'd like. For example, this year's 140M theme gives everyone the entire player database to work with except for pitchers with under .25 HR/9. It is an incredibly challenging test to see which owners have best mastered this game.

Good description from ozomatli...

Also, juice's tournaments are typically first-come, first-serve on the team choices. Some people will grab 3, 4, 5 teams. There is an advantage to jumping in on thejuice's tournament early to grab the best perceived choices.

In my tournament, everybody is on equal footing. In fact, some themes will see more than one person select the same team or combination of teams (depending on the theme). But they will often have significantly varying results depending on a myriad of factors, including managerial settings.

Here is a thread from last year's round 1, where the theme required you to draft your players using just two franchises. The Indians/Giants combination was selected 12 times. Page 2 shows how much those 12 teams varied in winning%.
