seeing myself at 35.5 wins per season over the last 12 seasons made my stomach turn. OUCH!

1. Kevin Durant - And the run of elite wing scorers begins! Durant is probably my favorite of these guys, and with 8 usage points and 56% efg% he is one of the elite scorers in this league. He adds pretty much everything else you want in a top dog too.
2. Anfernee Hardaway - You guys know it's a 5-year right??? How do we let Penny fall to eleibowitz at 34???
3. Tyson Chandler - I wish I would have been following the third round more closely. As soon as I realized Tyson was still available and perfect for my team, I also realized he was perfect for eleibowitz team and there was no way he was passing Chandler up. If I had been on top of my game I would have tried to trade up ahead of him, but no dice. Through three rounds, this is easily the best team.
4. Marques Johnson - Not my favorite pick, but it's hard to deny his value in the fourth round. Not many guys with 4 usage points, 55 +efg%, good passing, rebounds, D, and low turnovers left. If he shot any threes he would be the whole package. And that 100% SG season is a good fit here.
5. Oliver Miller - Underrated player with a cheap price tag is perfect for the ODL. Not the best rebounder, and while this team is certainly fine in that department, it's not stellar.
6. Eric Bledsoe - The perfect backup ODL point guard.
6. Samuel Dalembert - Efficient with good D and low turnovers, he is a great backup for relatively cheap.

Just FYI will be using 77-78 Marques, Durant is playing SG

Bold! But I like it!

Might need to hire ben to do evals every year (he wins enough so we don't need to worry about missing out on these for too long). Awesome stuff, love the O/U feature.

I am all caught up with the evals! All individual evals are caught up to date and the round recaps are now updated as well! Will do the 6th round update when all the picks have been made. Final predictions will be made once the season starts and I can see everyones' roster, but before any games have been played.

Some new things in these evals that I haven't done before:
Trade grades for the two trades that were done (found in round 3 recap)
Over/Under for all teams! I set the over/under based on the owners average wins per season
Team name grades: I've done this once before but not in a while so I'm bringing it back!
Separate bold predictions from playoff predictions: this means 4 extra predictions this season!

35.8 haha, but you also have that chip which is really all that matters!

By the way, full records of how each owner has done the last 12 seasons are up in the ODL Champions page listed in the second post of the thread.

"1. Best Player Available vs. Salary
This one is a tough one to balance and can make or break a draft. Say a really good player is still on the board in the fourth round that fits your team perfectly, but he is expensive and if you draft him your bench will suffer. What should you do? I don't really know. I guess I usually go with the best player available (as long as they fit in my team structure). After the fourth round, I usually try to fill out my entire 12 man roster to see how it fits and if I am low or high on salary. Yes, sometimes this backfires as some of those players get taken, but it at least serves as an outline. For example, last season I had filled out my roster with the players I wanted and realized I was a little high on cap. So I turned some of my later players into low usage scrubs that played lots of minutes for their salary. Of course, then one of my other players got drafted so I had to do it all over again! But at least now I had the framework of how many minutes I would need at each position and how much I needed to spend before spending on the scrubs. This question is certainly a tough one."

Exactly what I do. This is also how you end up drafting Ervin Johnson FWIW.

robusk:______ ____ 36.5

I mean, yeah, I have never played in the ODL before. That being said, I am taking the over.

I set the over/under for the three new owners based on the average win totals for the 9 owners in my records who only played 1 season. Not the perfect way to get your over/under, but I can't think of a better one.

Yeah I saw that and it makes sense. Just providing some guidance to the betting audience.

However, then he took Hinrich whom he could have gotten later, so I'm not as high on it as I would have been otherwise.

Why does everyone hate an 80 defender who plays 35 mins, has a decent efg, and makes 140 3s at under $6.5M?? Valid question.. I don't get it.. I know he isn't 'great' by any stretch of the imagination, but, damn- who the hell else available that late, plays that good of D, makes that many 3s, is able to play D at both G spots, has low TOs, with a fairly low salary? I might actually end up using the 16 min version (teamed with a player (good D & efg) who used to get drafted before the new guys) - to save even more salary, and yes, you can say drafting that guy in the 5th is a reach.. But so would have drafting K O'Quinn there, right? In your commentary, which I enjoy, you often insinuate that owners made a mistake with there 4th & 5th picks, "bc they would have been there later"- many of those time, that is highly debatable- Example: you said it with J Terry, and I drafted him later than when he was selected in ODL 64.. Anyway, I think a better point is that this is the ODL, not the $52M league... It's hard to say any player that fits your team is a 'reach' in the 4th or later. Salary is so important, that drafting cheaper guys sooner or later is a must- which can be viewed as reaching... But really isn't... I enjoy the commentary... But I read the 'reaching' thing so much, that I just couldn't not say something about it...

Going to surround Embiid with 3 very efficient shooters at a total of 8 usage points between them for the 10 minutes he's in the game . . . that's relying on WIS to substitute properly lol. When he's in the game the total usage is just over 109. Hopefully that reduces his shots a bit.

As far as drafting positions in the ODL the salary is so low that from what I have seen owners start drafting role players in round 4. Rounds 1 to 3 are the studs for each team. Therefore, IMO there really isn't too much of a difference between a 4th round player for one team and a 6th round player for another team depending upon what an owner is looking to do.

I know that taking Embiid in round 4 is absolutely ridiculous. I was just going by all of the experts opinions in the 2016-17 season thread before WIS released the players. All of the great owners were looking forward to Embiid being the perfect backup for the the Mailman, the Admiral, Dwight Howard and Shaq etc. I don't think that the team will be terrible because I took Embiid in the 4th round. At the same time I would never draft Embiid in the 4th round of the $52 million league . . . that's if I'm not banned for life. Ha Ha Ha.

Maybe it was ODL 62, but that season brought down a few win total averages for a lot of good owners. DH dominated... I made the playoffs with 36 wins... Bandit's over/under is 27... I'm betting the over.. any takers. Lol

Bandits making the playoffs. I like him at 44 wins.

'16-'17 Durant is tantalizing! 3K min and he's WIltesque $11 M+ territory.
But you have to be so dang ODL stingy it's probably not reasonable
and clearly not enough minutes from a top tier #1 pick.
still it'd be fun to see that 16-17 adv% stat line in the ODL.
