I think you'd fit right in with Bernie Sanders :).

If you're scared of Wilt, don't compete.

jt7king - it's not a socialist agenda - it's an alternative to insanity -

CAUTION - POLITICAL COMMENTARY FOLLOWS:

It's similar to those individuals living in inner cities who have continually voted for Dems over the last 60 years and wonder why it is that EVERY inner city in America is fraught with crime, drugs, public school's that can't teach kids to read and write - let alone graduate -- rampant poverty and unemployment---- and yet those same people do the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER --- AND NOTHING CHANGES - including their ******** and moaning over the very things they continue to request by voting for MORE OF THE SAME.

INSANITY at it's finest.
So let's break this down, because this is my wheelhouse.

We have not voted for Dems for 60 years. as a country, we have had some republican and some democratic administrations.

1956 - Dwight D. Eisenhower - "Anyone who does not embrace the New Deal does not have a place in American politics." How's that for a Republican?

1960 - 68 - Kennedy/LBJ - OK. Whatever Kennedy tried to was overruled by LBJ's 5 years. I'm pretty sure that the passing of the Civil Rights Act was political.

1968-76 - Nixon/Ford

1976-80 - Jimmy C. Nope, Americans are too macho for a Georgian peanut farmer.

1980-1992 - these guys.

1992-2000 - Neoliberal. NOT a real progressive. Basically just a centrist in sheep's clothing

2000-2008 - THIS guy.

2008-2016 - Even though we THOUGHT we were voting for a real progressive, instead we got Clinton 2.0.

So.......what does every single one of these guys from 1980 to the present have in common?

They all instituted or maintained tax cuts for the rich. And you wonder why income inequality has never been greater.

We could be investing in education, we could end the war on drugs, we could change our police departments so that they look like the communities they represent, like Bernie suggests.

Instead we go invade whatever Middle East country seems to be asking for it, we teach to the test and depersonalize public education with Common Core nonsense (something i'm not sure anyone other than the President supports), and we allow tax havens in Panama and sign crappy trade deals with everyone so our workers have to compete with workers in Laos and China.

By the way, we never got our $700 billion back, Goldman Sachs. If you wouldn't mind putting that in the mail tomorrow, that would be great.

from the article linked: "Under Obama, the average federal tax rate paid by the top 1% of households has gone up more than 6 percentage points to an estimated 33.8% today, according to the Tax Policy Center."
