Not really.   Once teams fall out of the playoff hunt, they often "soft tank" if they're not in a world with a MWR(or if they're well above the MWR levels).   My guess is you're playing a bunch of teams that are halfassing their way to the end.

Rick Branson seems to have a fantastic career ahead of him.  However despite a season that probably has earned him the Cy Young it not all sunshine and rainbows.  I went to http://www.bmicalculator.org/ and got the following result back about him:  Your BMI is: 34.2. You are in the MODERATELY OBESE weight range.  To move to the next weight range you need to weigh 226.7 pounds to be in the OVERWEIGHT weight range.  He's one of the hardest workers I have ever seen, but just can't seem to keep the weight off.  What dietary recommendations do you have?  He's only 24, its too early to recommend Gastric Bypass surgery, right?

Meh, the BMI calculator doesn't count anything but height/weight.    This guy would be "grossly obese" with about 3% body fat.

Tell your guy to eat more chicken and fish.   Lay off the burgers and he'll be fine.

What did Ray Lewis mean when he said "There's some things you can cover up.. and then there's some things you can't"?

How awesome is the B1G this year?
9/22/2014 12:30 PM
Did Missouri take Indiana lightly, or are the Hoosiers just awesome?

Do you think the Jeter Tour "hurt" the Yankees, as Buster Olney contends?
9/22/2014 12:31 PM
Shouldn't Jeter have been a serious consideration for new commissioner? The timing would have been perfect, no?

Why do people make postings on public boards to tell a specific individual that they have sent them a private message? Does the private message not exist if it is not mentioned elsewhere?

How did a frog get so philosophical?

Well, obviously you can cover up a murder because dead men don't talk but, if you smack a *****, she can.

Super awesome.  Way better than the MAC.

Gene Hackman's spirit was with Indiana.

I think Jeter played a year too long.   He didn't "help" the Yankees a whole lot.

Jeter should be POTUS.   And the timing is perfect.

They like to be noticed.   Quickly.

He went to school.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
9/22/2014 6:16 PM

Not much.  They're lazy fuc, err, chucks.

Do you utilize any type of formula for evaluating HOF nominees?

If you do, (or even if you don't), how much emphasis do you think the awards deserve vs just the raw numbers?
9/22/2014 11:25 PM
No, no formula.   I evaluate the raw numbers.   Of course, because most players end their careers at DH/1B, and that's what shows on their player card, I look at where the played most of their career to "adjust" for position.   IMO, a .300 hitter with 400 homers who played 2B is more worthy than a .300 hitter with 550 homers who played LF/1B.
