That's the thing about the Lakers; while many other teams strive to make the Playoffs and consider it a successful season when they do, they Lakers are always disappointed when they don't win it all.  I guess those kind of lofty expectations are not unreasonable since they've made the Playoffs (a ridiculous and I'd have to believe unmatched in U.S. sports) 33 times the last 35 years.  Hate on people.  We could care less.   We're "so" used to it.

you're a celtics fan right?

you guys just

traded Perkins for Jeff Green
missed out on signing David West
re-signed Jeff Green only to have him develop a heart condition that takes him out for the season

and

Ray Allen turned 36 this summer
KG's 35, Pierce just turned 34 in October

enjoy...

No his team is the one that has one of the best young cores in the league and was sensible about the way they built their team to the point that they are saying amnesty, shamnesty.

so he should start his own Supersonics thread and watch himself in this one or I'll redline him for trolling

(as for them being sensible it helps that their second best player is still on his rookie contract and making less than the MLE - we'll see how sensible they are when his contract comes up next season)

any juice to the Pau for Love and stuff rumors? not sure I hate it

FWIW I really don't think the Perk trade was for Jeff Green, it was for the Clippers' pick.  Jeff Green just made the deal look superficially more justifiable since he added bench depth.  Perk was pretty turrible for the Thunder last year so it wasn't a huge loss, would be nice to have him around this year but doesn't seem like Ainge was down to pay him.

Of course Green's heart ailment and CP3 going to the Clippers makes the trade look not nearly as good, but that's results oriented.  If nothing else Krstic was just as good for us as Perk was for the Thunder, so people are way overreactive to the loss of Perk for last year at least.

yeah that Paul thing really screwed up the value of that pick

It would make no sense for the Twolves to trade Kevin Love for Pau Gasol.

sure it would - one word: Rubio

(also though older Gasol is the better player - of course age has to be considered but the need for a mentor for Rubio might outwiegh that consideration)
