90M Double Eagle Single
7/8/2019 6:07 PM
Is there somewhere I should go for my league numbers?

On the $90 Million theme, what if your two chosen $9 million players came from franchises that don't have stadiums in the database?

Both of them? In that case you'd need to use WIS Park.

Variable Cap: Minus XY
Your team's salary cap will be 180M - x*y

x = number of distinct seasons on your 25 man roster
y = number of distinct franchises on your 25 man roster

Ex: If my team is made up of only players from the 2018 Yankees, my salary cap would be 179M (180 - 1*1). If I decide to also swap one player out for 2018 Jacob deGrom, my salary cap goes down to 178M since deGrom plays for the Mets and my team is now made up of players from 2 franchises (180 - 1*2 = 178). If I decide to keep deGrom and also swap out two other players for 1927 Babe Ruth and 1927 Lou Gehrig, my cap drops to 176M (180 - 2*2).

Other Specifics
Seasons: All
DH: No
WW: No
AAA: No
Trades: No
Clones: No
Injuries: Turned On
Multi-team players: No restrictions (i.e., you can use partial or combined)
Ballpark: Use a park the one of your franchises played in during one of the seasons you select
300K Exception: No
Team Name: Include your salary cap
Division Alignment: Random
Do the Philadephia, Oakland and KC A's count as 1 franchise or 3?
7/17/2019 3:53 PM
1 -- franchises are *almost* always based on Baseball-Reference.com definitions (i.e. the full history of a franchise).

In that specific case, please remember that the pre-1901 A's are different than the post-1901 A's

I use this page and the individual team links to get the exact years/nicknames:

Thanks for posting that link...In the league that I am commissioner for there has already been an instance of a franchise error. Please everyone, for both the variable cap league and the 110M theme, make sure you know your franchise histories - use the link redcped provided and ask questions if you are unsure. There are a lot of mistakes that are easy to make...

-- The pre-1900 Baltimore Orioles are NOT the same franchise at the modern day Orioles
-- The 19th century St. Louis Browns are NOT the same franchise as the 20th century Browns.
-- The 1890s Cleveland Spiders are NOT related to the modern Cleveland Indians.
etc, etc, etc.

The best one: There were two separate teams in 1890 that were called the New York Giants

Uh-oh.

Be right back.

Basically, no American League teams before 1901. Many of the 1800's teams are now defunct.

Hey Guys - Just a reminder that in determining your salary cap for this league, the number of unique franchises used is MULTIPLIED by the number of unique seasons. Not ADDED. At least one owner in my league has already made this mistake.

$90M: Double Eagle
One hitter and one pitcher on your roster must cost over 9M each. The pitcher must also cost over $40,000/IP. No other player can cost over 9M.

Another rule that is tripping some people up...your $9M pitcher must cost more than $40,000/IP
