My highly over-rated fast start is coming  to a quick end the last two days.

Insane how quick I went from 13-29.  The rug definitely got pulled from under.

Damn, lasted almost 100 games in the cage.  #25 now.  ARGH.

It's amazing how many ways I can go 9-9 in a day without ever actually going 3-3 in one session.  I've had days of
1-5, 2-4, 6-0
4-2, 4-2, 1-5
5-1, 4-2, 0-6
2-4, 2-4, 5-1

brianjw currently has the best record (out of 96 teams) in THREE of the six themes and is second in another theme.  His .626 winning percentage means his teams are on a pace to average 101.4 wins per team.  That's sick.

I find it kinda sad that I get excited when I go from 10th worst to 17th worst overall. Funny how expectations differ with the individual. I look forward to getting another shot someday. Learning a lot from the excellent owners. Still have time to make the playoffs with a team or two... haven't given up yet!

I like to see which people are outperforming their pre-ranking.  The person that sticks out is jdh34.  In three previous tournament, he finished 78th, 56th and 68th.  He is currently ranked 11th.

Another one is rickysdad44, who finished 55th last year.  He is currently in 7th place.

Q: how do playoffs affect the overall standings? Do teams get extra points for winning the WS in a particular league?
9/10/2014 12:27 PM
yes - who is this jdh34 person and why is he interfering with my playoff chances?.....I have 2 teams in divisions with him on pace for 90+ wins and both are behind his first place teams.

From the league signup thread:

Points will be awarded based on wins and playoffs success. The standard point formula will be used. Points = Regular season wins + playoff wins + 5 points for making the playoffs + 5 points for each playoff round won.

I'm a lifer that's spent the better part of a decade trying to beat teams that extensively use cookies with little success as my overall record would indicate. Ultimately you gotta use some, so I did a lot of research heading into this years tournament and have found a little success in the run up that has carried over to this point. Just cracking the top 24 would be a major achievement because like the rest I see what brianjw is doing and pretty much feel it's his to lose.
