Ricky Bobby Memorial Pennant Race
Most of you will remember the movie Talladega Nights. That is where I got the idea for this theme.
Ricky Bobby, the main character is famous for saying "If you ain't first, you're last".

Ricky Bobby is the man with two first names. Kind of like Tommy John and Bob Shirley. In this theme we will use this concept. Upon joining you will select two first names, like Rickey and Bobby, Every player on your team must have one of those first names. As simple as that, almost.

Here are the rules:

1) Upon joining each owner will select two first names.
2) Each name may be used three times but combinations are exclusive. There can be three
Rickys and three Bobbys but only one Ricky Bobby.
3) We will use the names used by WiS. In other words if you pick George You don't get to use
Babe Ruth.
4) You don't get to use every variation of a name. If you choose Bobby, you don't get Bob, Rob,
Robert, Etc. Only Bobby.
5) The sometimes "Y" rule. "Y" is a special case. If you pick Ricky, you may use Ricky, Rickey
and Rickie (but not Rick). That goes for Willie, Willey and Willy; Jimmy and Jimmie; you get
the idea.
6) No one can use Babe. Babe is blacklisted. You may use other players with nick names like
Red, Lefty, Ducky, etc as long as that is the name used by WiS. Just NO Babes.
7) Clone Rule (because clones need love, too). You may clone one player for each of your names
one time, So two Rickey Hendersons and two Bobby Shantz.

Other Important Stuff:

$140M Cap (maybe hard to reach)
No AAA
Yes DH
No Waiver Wire
No trades
Yes clones (see rule #7)
Injuries on
Standard 24-team schedule
Any stadium

So, if I'm reading this right, you can have "Ed" or "Eddie", but not both. "Joe" or "Joey", but not both.

No, you can use both Joe and Joey or both Ed and Eddie.

But if you choose Joe and another name you can't use Joey. The same goes for Ed or any names that are similarly related..

Joe and Joey or Will and Willie and the like are all considered to be separate names and can be used in any combination.

I misread the clone rule - may have to re-think my selection. You're saying I could have 2 Stan Musials and 2 Eddie Cicottes but no clones for other Stans & Eddies right?

I am trying to help owners who join later and have trouble finding quality starting pitchers.
