51. I remember Mazeroski sending the Yankees home crying the blues like Gate Mouth Brown. I remember Ken Boyer crushing a grand slam to lift the Cards to a 4 - 3 win over those dreaded Yankees. I remember the first Angels teams with Albie Pearson. I remember the Toy Cannon, the Spaceman, Jim Boutin and "Ball 4" (Glad you didn't take it personally). And I will always remember the favorites of my youth, the Orioles with Jim Gentile and Luis Aparicio soon to be set aside for the da Boog and the great O's of the late 60's and early 70's. I still rememeber the first time I saw a baseball game on a COLOR TV. As a kid in school, I made all my Christmas money betting on the series. I can stil see the beauty of Chavez Ravine as the Robbies, Brooks and Frank launch first inning homers against Don Drysdale. Summer days were spent with Strat-o-matic, APBA, and a number of others. I remember the excitement when I unwrapped a new pack of cards and found the 1961 Roger Maris! And they say that memory is the last part of a guy to go soft... I think NOT! Go Orioles! (and this from an Oregonian, no less)
