Personally Red, I think it's a great idea and good to have you back. I've been dying & going out of my mind, without any charts or graphs to mull over.

So, you must rate BH and PASS fairly heavily on SFs? I am assuming that's why my guy Walker fell so far down....

Thanks Red. I did notice that and couldn't believe he was lower than some of those players. In your example, there is no question Walker is far superior with his ATH/SP advantage alone. The other guy would never be able to stay with Walker one on one. I didn't expect Walker to be rated too highly at SF but not that low. Top 15 sounds more like it as I expected the BH/PASS to hurt him. The ATH/SP/REB/DEF/PER are all pretty good. Think he will be a good defensive player for me who will score senior year.

Great stuff, red - thanks for putting this together! I definitely agree with you guys on the SF rating tweak as well.

Red, I have to professionally disagree with the Walker/Johnson comparison. Other than Ath/Sp, Johnson is "FAR" superior to Walker in 7 catergories Reb/Def/Per/BH/Pass/WE/ST and is virtually tied in LP. Those catergories are essential for a SF as you showed and proved to me a couple of seasons ago with that SF I recruited at Nazareth. I think Thomas was his name. The SF and the SG I got last year at Nazareth have passed him already. Walker has speed, but that's about it. The 4 catergories that stand out to me are Reb/Per/BH/WE/ for Johnson, especially the Rebounding catergory that you proved to me. It's what has helped me tremendously up here in D11 this year. I agree Johnson's Speed is slow, so yes, drop him down a little, but to bring Walker up almost a whole point, I don't buy that one and have to professionally disagree.

As far as how you've tweaked the system, I don't know how you've tweaked it, so I can't make an opinion on it. Would be curious though which "Core" catergories you had previously, followed by the second tier, than third tier, and which ones you've adjusted (moved up/moved down) so I could mull it over and give you an honest professional opinion on it.

court, that's an interesting take. To me, the top 5 categories for SFs are ATH, SPD, REB, LP, PER. Walker's significantly better in ATH (+19) and SPD (+25), and the differences between the players in the other three categories are much more minor: REB (-6), LP (+1), PER (-7). So I'd definitely prefer Walker.

Spruce, I break it down a little different, First 4 (SPD/REB/LP/PER) and Second 5 (ATH/DEF/BH/PASS/ST) and than take WE into consideration. Let's do a full breakdown for Johnson (SPD -25/REB +6/LP -1/PER +7) for a -13 in First Tier, but in Second Tier (ATH -19/DEF +5/BH +15/PASS +23/ST +5) for a +29, and if you add in the +28 in WE, you get a composite score of +44 for Johnson. To break it down another way, (ATH/SP -44), (LP -1) (REB/DEF/PER/BH/PASS/WE/ST +89). If Johnson was equal in ATH & SP, he'd have a rating of 502 compared to Walker's 435.

Of the 7 catergories I mentioned in my first post, his REB is slightly better but enough to matter because it's a CORE catergory, DEF is negligible (they both suck), PER is better and enough to matter (CORE Catergory), BH/PASS/WE are all "far superior" as Walker's BH & WE completetly suck, and ST is slightly better, but is basically negligible.

Personally, neither one of them would have made my radar, let alone me recruiting either one of them. Johnson because of your side of the argument (ATH/SD) and Walker because of my side of the arguement. But I still think Johnson is the better SF, if I had to pick one of them.
