My nominee - 1975 Joe Morgan

everybody says Pujols?

what year?

Traditionally, it has been Willie Mays.  Morgan is being punished by Admin for his stupid comments on Sunday Night Baseball.

Some years of Rickey are pretty awful.

I've never had a REALLY good season from Willie, certainly none that exceeded my high expectations.   I guess I'd vote for him as "worst-best".   Another guy who never seems to do well for me is Steve Carlton... the only season of his that meets my expecations is the 1972, which costs a ton and doesn't normalize all that well.

I'm a sucker for Eddie Collins at 2B, and he almost always disappoints.  Different seasons and different caps, he just never seems to have the type of season I draft him to have.

I don't remember ever using '75 Morgan, but he's been brought up as a consistent underperformer for years, so there must be some truth to the complaints.

I'm using Willie Mays for the first time ever in a high-cap league as a defensive replacement in the OF, and he has 2 HR in 2 AB, so I can't complain about that.

I'm using Mays for the first time right now in a 120 million league, and his OPS of barely .600 is, to say the least, underwhelming.

Yes on Collins.  All the 30s Athletics stink for me.  Simmons, Cochrane, etc...  I mean, I know why and I've come to expect it, and yet I still keep trying.

Also, '98 Hoffman routinely burns me.

Joe DiMaggio is a persistent underperformer too.

Dean Chance.  A lot of themes I play make him an attractive choice, and I ALWAYS regret it.

Yeah, tell me about DiMaggio.  I'm paying $7.5 mil for a .280 avg and .330 obp. with few homers.

Mays, Mays, Mays.

DiMagg is not good, either.

I dunno why people expect much from Mays or DiMaggio.  They're way overpriced for low-cap leagues and don't have high enough OBPs to perform anywhere near their cost in high-cap leagues  They don't do well but I'd never expect them to.  Joe Morgan seems more like a guy who looks good but doesn't perform.  I also feel like Luis Tiant never lives up to my modest expectations.

I don't play often but Dimaggio's low K numbers always suckered me in when I played a lot
